In osu!, there is a mod called Flashlight. It restricts the view area, and as you get to 100x combo, the radius gets smaller. But, when you achieve 200x combo, this is where things get complicated and you have to memorize the entire map.

Outside that, are there any rhythm games that have memorizing mechanics?

Rhythm doctor has some mechanics that could do that. Actually, if you're bad enough at detecting rhythm, the whole game could become a memorization game.

You can do this in almost any rhythm game if you have the time, patience and skill. A primarily DDR player by the name of piguy314159 memorized an entire DDR game from memory. The entire ordeal when it was completed took 12 hours if memory serves right.

Pretty much any rhythm game can be memorized. Take a look at piguy314159 and his insane feats:

This one is just jaw-dropping. Holy fuck it still amazes me to this day.

Jesus did this guy really memorized and played 3 hours worth of songs?

Any rhythm game can be memorization only, if you close your eyes.

it does require a lot of memorization past non demons, you can't just open a level/map and beat it/fc like you can in osu

So it completely uses the mechanics of an actual rhythm game instead of using it's own mechanics and standing out on it's own?
SmilMan
