Do certain keys make a difference, etc?

I've been using L.Shift+Z as my main keybinds for a couple months now and have been improving with it, however I've been stuck on doing bursts faster and one of my friends said that Left Shift is a terrible key because its longer and my fingers are more distant apart. So this raises two questions:

- Are certain keys like Shift, Caps Lock, etc. bad for OSU? (Does it effect speed, finger control, etc).
- Does spacing between keys matter? (Like if I want to use Z+C instead of Z+X).

Generally if you use your index and middle finger to tap, you play with 2 keys right next to each other on the same row, eg. Z and X, and if you tap with your index and ring finger the two keys will be spaced apart by one key, eg. Z and C. This is because that is how much your fingers are naturally spaced apart for most people, and is therefore the most comfortable for them. You should use whatever is most comfortable for you.

I'd assume that playing with your fingers unnaturally spaced apart or unnaturally close together would be bad for speed though.

As for keys like shift, caps lock etc, I'd assume that they'd generally be worse than just using letter/number keys. This is because they would be heavier and may require stabilisers, making them harder to press down and take longer to pop up compared to letter/number keys.

It doesn’t matter; you’re overthinking it.

i can ss 300 bpm streams with caps lock + A

it's preference based

in my case keys with stabs are slightly harder to press so its probably more optimal to use the "standard size" keys (wqert etc.)

but everything in osu is about preference
if chicony is able to stream 300 bpm while dislocating his finger joints then you are be able to improve with any keybinds

you can even improve while being a mouse only player

the possibilities are huge
