I just saw an osu! presentation on youtube and I really liked it. I have some school work revolving around research, and I wanted to do one for this game as well. I would appreciate it if you guys could answer these questions.

  1. How did you find osu!, did you discovered it from a friend? or did you find a video from youtube?
  1. What aspect of osu! makes you keep playing?
  1. What motivates you to keep clicking circles?
  1. Do you play osu! alone or with friends/random multiplayer lobbies?
Please answer these questions however you like. Arigathanks.

1. I've gained interest through a random video where someone plays osu and their parents were arguing.
2. To be able to play 7* or higher maps.
3. Watching osu youtube videos to motivate myself
4. I mostly play alone and sometimes multi if i feel like it. My friends tried osu but said it's trash :(.

1. I keep getting youtube recommendations of osu clips and finally decided to give it a try
2. I don't play anymore lmao. If I do have to answer, I'd be that there's so many songs that you can play compared to other games.
3. The drive to improve and be better than other people.
4. Mostly played alone for improvement but I did sometimes go to multi lobbies from time to time.

1. Found it many years back thinking it was a social media site for weebs until I found out it was a rhythm game through the infamous Centipede video. Found out it had a mania game mode not long after and since I already played Flash Flash Revolution I had plans to join but kept it on hold because I didn't have my own computer to play games on and I knew my sister wouldn't let me get it on hers.

2. Competitive side to an extent and because I just like playing it (but also hate playing it sometimes). The natural desire to improve keeps me going.

3. Not really a circle clicker but more of a keyboard killer. Same as 2 pretty much.

4. I play alone. No one else in my irl friend group plays rhythm games and I never liked going through the hassle of setting up or finding lobbies.

  1. A friend told me about the game
  2. The music/it's fun
  3. I play for fun
  4. Mostly solo but sometimes multi with friends or randos

1. I discovered osu! from my sisters online friend. He does not play anymore, but he's a huge inspiration for me.

2. The music! I wouldn't be playing if the game had terrible music. Most of the stuff I listen to nowadays is from osu!

3. The constant hit of dopamine when you see even the tiniest of improvement.

4. Usually alone, but it's much more fun and laid back with friends, inside of multiplayer lobbies.

1. roommate. back then this game was still new, simple, without all the fancy webpage or youtube promotion. so it's either someone you know offline or you're already a member of hardcore music gamer groups and you get these news early.

2. call it a long habit that's difficult to shake off I guess. I haven't been playing since 2017, after when I sometimes have a feeling to get back to it before getting worn out.

3. isn't this the same question as above?

4. 99.99% solo. play multi would mean most of their choices are not what I'd like to play.
