osu!welcomer Club is for people who enjoy browsing the Introduction forums/any forums in general and making people feel welcome (especially new comers), I will need a few people to help me get this thing started so if anyone would like to join send me a message here. All ages/genders/races welcome; I however don't want anyone who is going to act immature and start problems!

  • Requirements
  1. You must speak/understand English.
  2. Be kind/welcoming.
Note: There won't be many requirements at this time.

Is this really necessary?

No, it isn't. That being said, it'll be nice to see this "club" do more than just welcoming users to the forums and game. The club could guide players to specific areas, teach them tips and tricks on how to play, explain to them the rules, etc. All I see here as of now are more people taking advantage of the introductions forum to get a higher post count.

I would love for you to prove me wrong, however.

What you just said only proves my point further. If you do not care for the club, why take part in it? Nowhere was I talking smack, in fact I was offering advice on how to improve the quality of posting there. Currently, all posts in that forum consists of "hi welcome to osu". What I do NOT see are posts pointing newer players to helpful resources, interaction with the OP in regards to what they have stated, or anything at all that justifies this as necessary.

EDIT: PM was made after I posted this. Cba to move it or care, its up to you guys to make such an organization useful beyond filling the introduction threads with posts

I mean, Off Topic is basically a giant trash can, but I'd still get pretty angry if I saw someone taking a shit in my trash can.
An osu!welcomer Club doesn't need any heavy detailed mechanics such as administrators and such, that'll only establish a hierarchy and superiority, which isn't needed. If anything, it should be, at most, a group of people who are willing to provide the basics of the forum and are willing to ask questions from new people in the forum community. And not a justified method of whoring your post count.

There's many things wrong with this idea. While the idea seems to have good intentions, the execution is all wrong. You don't need a specific club to welcome new members. Just be friendly and answer questions as they come along. Make friends and you're already being a good citizen and being this "welcomer" if you must.

Please send me a PM if you believe this was in error.

PS: Editing posts after any sort of discussion is always in bad taste.
PSS: Lust pretty much summed up the point on the dot.

personally, i don't think so. however, if people so wish, they could use a banner or something. i wouldn't object to something like that. seems easier and more manageable.
