McOsu feels better than Osu!

I've been playing bad so I figured instead of mucking up my account even more w shitty passes I would just use McOsu until I got out of my funk. I get on McOsu, and it just feels infinitely more responsive than stable does. I even compared them and there was no competition at all. There is little difference in the displayed input delay on each, and actually McOsu reads higher. Settings are the exact same on mcosu as they are on osu and I haven't messed with any settings that aren't on stable. Is this the same for everyone else or is it a problem with my osu client? FPS is capped at 960 on both at 1080p

Bonus question: how can I get my osu client to do letterboxing like mcosu does without shrinking the whole game? Just the play area. In his videos it seems DigitalHypno has it set up for this, and I'm just curious if I can because it fixes my issue of not being able to aim corners at all. Thanks! :)

mcosu has better coding

also that box thing is just a skin thing. pretty sure some cookiezi skins have it. and no it doesnt change anything about the area its just that it shows where the play area is

copy the scorebar from the skin fgsky + shigetora into your skin and you will have the box

It's the same for everyone. Generally, out of osu! stable, osu! lazer, and McOsu, osu! stable will always run the worst and from what I've seen McOsu runs better than lazer as well on a lot of hardware.

You should try it yourself

I just switched back to osu and thought I was hallucinating. Glad to be affirmed. I find it maddening that osu!-stable is this poorly written. Furthermore McOsu it's written in C++ so it can be properly run on Linux (and pretty much anything). I even tried lazer but it's just so heavy on the resources and the performance is still worse.

Honestly, I wish peppy would change the codebase to McOsu and then allow for all the extra fancy *cough* bloat *cough* on top as addons. Though it will never happen...
