im an artist that goes by SynthTek Sound and im trying to do some nightcore mixes of songs... the problem is im not that good at it, so im wondering how osu!'s actually modifies the song to turn it into nightcore, i know that it speeds it up x1.5 the original, and increases the gain / volume / level of the beat, but how much does it actually raise the vocals in tune and how does it isolate it so nicely when raising it?

I probably shouldnt do this but im new to creating music and you can listen to it here: https://soundcloud.com/paradoxmedia

It is mostly EDM but im working on a nightcore original mix thats inspired by Nightcore's "God is a Girl" (noone has yet to make that a beatmap on osu! yet so if you are good at beatmapping that would be appreciated ;) )

and most songs are still in the final touchups mode, ignore oscillate thats rough and i might just scrap it.

Please leave some constructive criticism would be nice as well!

Thanks for Reading this! :D :)

There's honestly nothing much to "nightcoring" a song. What osu does is just a pitch and speed.

Really just speed it up to any degree you see fit and then make sure the vocals don't sound too out of key versus the track.

Also when you speed edit make sure it doesn't clip.

Nightcoring songs the worst way to learn any form of music though

Pitch is raised a perfect fifth when it's sped up 50% in the method that osu! uses (C to G). That is to say, both tempo and pitch are increased by 50%. More traditional Nightcore tracks go about a third or about 20% increase. Also, the mod doesn't affect percussion itself in a special way, but instead adds a generic 4/4 drum loop on top. There's generally no other processing on Nightcore edits than speed. Any additional prominence in a bassline for example would be due to it becoming more distinctive as it's dragged into pitch areas that our ears are more sensitive to.

also why don't you call me anymore skibs-kun
