im looking for a mentor to teach thing or two about mapping...
i mapped about 10-15 maps some of which i deleted and i think ive reach bottleneck so if any ranked mapper is open and down to help me improve my emphasizing im down to listen

actual answer here: this is not a good way to find a mentor, you're better finding a mentoring discord server like sursum or a****n

I mean any ranked mapper who has enough knowledge to fix my mistakes and give me correct direction so i can improve doesn't matter for me if mentor will be from avalon, sursum etc. More people i know better it is

99% of mod queue owners aren't very good at modding and mv2 isn't very good for the kind of communication you need in teaching in the first place so that idea is honestly pretty doomed

OP, I hate to break it to you, but I don't think you're gonna get very much out of bumping the thread until you eventually get tired of it, considering the demographic of this subforum and the frankly poor optics of essentially waiting for a mentor to come to you. I think you'd be better off proactively messaging mappers you respect/like/think are good/whatever instead. Probably don't straight up ask them to mentor you, though, because that's too big of a commitment to ask from someone you just met. Ask for feedback on one map at a time.

You already know those mentorship program e.g. sursum right? Most likely they'll have a Discord server and even more likely they'll have place for mapping-related stuffs. You can take that as a start to post one of your maps and ask for feedback there if you're not the type to keen on asking people directly.

mods nowadays only want kudosu they legit come on my map type some stupid shit +mods aren't supposed to explain f.e why circle 1 is better at this position than where it is rn. about rules don't worry i have long finished reading it lol

well i would say i agree with that, your safest way to be better "is" with mods i learned that the hard way

if you're willing, remap however you want and how much do you want (just make sure you know what are you're f**king up)

that's why #mapping chatroom exist in the first place (used to be called #modhelp)

ok, so i've just looked at your map briefly and i can safe to say you're getting there, just need some polished

i'm willing to be your mentor under this situation

  1. i can't do a VC or simply record stuffs with Discord
  2. regularly chats just so i can make sure you're not gone while i have the urge
  3. you're willing to read a pretty long text because i can sometimes talk abt more than 1 subjects during that time
  4. i can't always online every time (not only because of time zones) but my part-time jobs + collages
other than that is based on your will

short answer to your problem:map different type of songs/experiment alot/check ranked maps

You will find it is the easiest way to improve.

ranked mappers aren't always the best teachers btw. look for the 1% of the modders that are actually good if ur still looking

constantly bumping this every couple months probably isnt going to get you a mentor, go talk to people. find a mapping discord server and make friends. ask people directly for advice.

or like others have said join a mentorship server or event.

Yeah, I believe this is not the exact way to get a mentor, by creating a thread and bumping it each week/month. You have to search it by yourself, start seeking someone's userpage, like BN, experienced mapper, famous mapper, etc. And also I agree with what Wither said above, try to ask someone directly, ask more than 1 user, ask for advice and information about mapping/modding/mentoring server.
