It is a must to hitsound osu!mania beatmaps to get it ranked?

I was mapping for robeats for 1 year, and now I am trying to map for osu!mania. You don't need to do hitsounding for robeats, but because I'm not mapping for osu!mania, I don't know if it is neccesary. Hope to know if it is a must to hitsound beatmaps.

for mania you just need a good audible hitnormal, additions are optional

It is not required to hitsound maps for Osu!mania anymore, but most people recommend to have a hitnormal replacing the default hitsamples for when it comes to playing the map in ranking (There has been cases where maps after this proposed RC change didn't have a hitnormal, even after it was put into effect — an example from the top of my head being -mint-'s Maboroshi (Camellia) set).

also since when were you mapping for robeats lol i dont think i saw you when you submitted some maps and stuff
