Now that we have default visual settings on the options page, I propose to add another one: the dim background color.
Dimming the background serves in many cases to reduce the contrast of the background image or to play on a solid color free of distractions.
I don't actually completely fade the background often but when I do I would prefer to play on a lighter color like white or grey.
It's probably just a personal taste thing, I have no idea if other players feel like this too.
Playing on a 100% black background also makes a big difference in playable skins. (No black/dark approach circles or hit circles allowed for instance)
