people had their own preferences and comfort when it comes to mapping, but for sake of opinions and healthy discussions, what are your go-to skins while mapping?

you are also free to comment on this thread if you wanna share your thoughts

please add the option: famous players' skins. then I'll change my vote (if possible)

92.4% of the time, I use Mathi's yellow cursor skin from, uh, 2018-2020 was it? idr remember. it's also my go-to gameplay skin. I often make maps that targeted to players that happen to be seasoned in osu!, so I'm not concerned with how new players see them. transparent bodies & clean way to see how I stack stuff is the main reasons why I use this skin. the combo colors are also pretty good despite them being transparent, I feel the colors enough to my liking.

only recently have I started using default skin for hitsounding purposes.

PS. yikes can't change I guess lol

MY WAIFU SKINS

In all seriousness, a skin that has clear sliderbody, approach circles and hitcircles.
It fits my mapping techniques well.

but at least the 4th option kinda represent it

I took an old ThePoon skin from like 2017 or something, changed up all the colors, added assets from Yugen for mania and heavily modified the mania section of the skin.ini for playing. then once I started mapping I ripped out the hitsounds and just went with default so I never have to switch skins aside from picking combo colors and checking that opaque slider ends don't look awful for some reason.

I really like having solid lines for follow points and translucent objects so I prefer it over mapping with default skin. Would be nice if the mania editor was skinnable though, I get headaches if I map it too long. :/

Most of the current votes uses top players' skins alternated between it and default (maybe for the sake of hitsounds and stuff)

Interesting

play skin = mapping skin. I use the planets skin since the color palette doesn't go ham on my eyes
frozz
i use refault with some tweaks

it basically cleaner version of default skin
tity
i alternate between the owc skin and deviouspanda's mapping skin
Agllius
they are circles
qwt
default skin

a map is judged by the default skin not the clickity clack rafis thingy idk im disconnected from modern osu
i like the default skin 2
-NanoRIPE-

sad

this thing below is not aimed towards reply. I just wanted to spit out an opinion about def skin

now that I think about it
although I agree with the default skin in some ways such as cleanliness of skin especially towards new players & hitsounds, I think a reason I don't like it personally is the solid slidertail. I always felt like it was such a... limiting thing, to tailor your map aesthetic to that really insignificant part of a slider. it was clutter lol. though it's probably necessary for me in mapping low diffs

hmmmm
