Now this is a toughy. It would be a real bitch to mod into phpbb, but it would be worth it in the end.

First things first would be to mod descriptions into threads. phpbb does not support this, but others do. Basically it's a field below "Subject" which a description of the thread can be entered in to.

Next, for uploaded maps, that description would automatically be filled with a link to the uploaded maps scoring page.

So if you were to browse the ranked forum, below every thread title (song/artist) woud be a direct link to the scoring page.

Don't mind me... Dial up pretty much forced me to exclusively be on Osu! and ideas keep flowing. . .

I'm not sure it'd be too hard to implement, it's just a matter of spending the time doing it. Given time, I imagine someone will release a proper mod for phpbb3 to do it (there was one for v2). If it's a greatly supported idea here then I think it's pretty workable.

tbqh I'd really like to add in that description (where the link to the scoring page is?) what genre of music the song is. At least 95% of the artists people are submitting I have never heard before (to be fair like 90% of them are Japanese) but I was browsing through the osu! youtube collection and saw a few tracks I really liked the sound to which I would have otherwise never even bothered to check out. There are types of music I enjoy and types of music I do not enjoy and having an idea of what I'm getting into when I peruse the Completed Beatmaps/Ranked Beatmaps threads would be nice.

An aside implementation to this idea would be the ability to delete beatmaps within osu!; that way I could download a dozen or two beatmaps, and just delete them as I go along based on whether I like the sound or not. These may seem a bit lazy, considering the fact you can just delete beatmaps via $installdir/osu!/Songs/ but look what happened to voting on beatmaps. Laaaaaazy
