This suggestion is rather simple. How about adding an option that would mute all the sounds from osu! when its window loses focus? This feature can be seen in several popular games such as Team Fortress 2.
All sounds, including music. This would be a simple toggle in the Options screen (disabled by default). Sometimes a task requires me to Alt + Tab out of osu! and I'd rather not get distracted by its sounds while performing the said task.Stefan wrote:

The boss key, in my opinion serves a totally different purpose (hiding osu! quickly from the eyes of your employers, hehe) and its existence is not that obvious. Plus, it requires you to click a tray icon to restore the osu! window since it becomes hidden. Why should I sacrifice my normal window switch mechanic?deadbeat wrote:
