I'm assuming that it has the same cause, because I often use Osu!Direct when spectating too.
But my guess is that the cursor doesn't come back, until you restart Osu!
The Osu!cursor comes back after spectating, but my normal cursos (the little arrow) is always invisible after spectating, which means that if I stop spectating and go to edit, my cursor is invisible again.
I hope that made any sense.
