I am trying to improve my finger control and ive been playing tech maps and im playing 4-5* maps to improve and literally EVERY 5* tech map is like death for my brain and fingers. I can play normal 5-low 6* maps pretty easy but even 4* tech is just unplayable for me. The average 4-5* tech map is closer to like 6* mapping.

Are Tech maps under starred?
These days, not really. Some are very slightly underweighted star rating wise
Manishh
Not really,

Its just that many player don't have enough skill to play those type of map.
Tech maps needed a lot more skills than any other skill.
You need stamina, finger control, speed, aim etc.
You can see this in streams too
Some player find some 4star stream very hard because they just play jump map.

4star tech maps have same patterns as other, but the thing which make them hard is that how much they use them.

But their are aim tech map which are under star

It used to be underweighted.
But right now i think it has normal star rating.
Its just that u usually dont play tech

I mean If you play more tech maps then It will be easier, I was also bad at tech maps until I started playing them and now I'm pretty decent.

before current star rating update some maps were way underrated. now its closer to their actual difficulty

You can't farm pp with tech maps unless you are woey lol.
I think it's safe to say that tech maps are pretty underrated, even after rhythm complexity or whatever it's called got buffed.

They used to be very under starred. Things are a bit better now with the recent rework but some patterns are still very under starred

after the rework not rly

most tech maps got buffed in the rework which makes their star rating more appopriate, but there are exceptions

most notably that i can think of rn is halgoh's night ride, which got nerfed somehow

I would probably start with traditional 4-5 minute long standard nomod maps that are in the 4-5* range, get that stamina more consistent and then you can start going for some techy style maps
