Have you ever sat down and thought to yourself, what if everyone in a Box fought against each other? Well, this is it. The first in a series of tournaments hosted by the Queen of Full Area herself, it's time for:
The Battle of the Box 2022: Two Versus Two.
This iteration will be played in teams of two, as the name suggests. Inspired by the Drenched Program 2021 format, three standard mappools will be featured, each with their own theme. Teams will fight over a three-week period and will compete to win a cash prize!
Some general rules that you will need to know:
• This tournament will be a single-elimination bracket played in ScoreV2.
• Teams will consist of only two players whose combined average rank MUST exceed 5,000. (e.g. [#9573 + #4532] / 2 = 7052.5 rank average = ✔️ | [#5000 + #3999] / 2 = 4499.5 rank average = ❌)
• The entire tournament will be played with three mappools, except for qualifiers. The three pools will be themed by either song genre or category. Pools will be banned by each team or rolled until one remains to play. The method must be determined unanimously by both teams.
• The Qualifiers mappool will be 6.1*, and the three mappools will be in the upper 6* (6.5-6.75) range.
• All match times will be in UTC.
• Lobbies and matches may not be rescheduled later than 24 hours before the match.
• All players MUST join the discord, and their display name in the server must be the same as their osu! username for the duration of the tournament. It can not just be the captain that joins, or the other teammate. Failure to join will equate to disqualification.

Qualifier Round Rules
Stan Full Area• There will be no warmups during the qualifiers.
• Each map played will have 2-minute time intervals. The map will start regardless of whether all players are ready, unless the referee chooses to make an exemption at their own discretion.
• In the event that a team were to miss their scheduled lobby, they are allowed to reschedule to a different lobby. Due to the restrictive timeline, however, they must reschedule as soon as possible.
• Every registered team is required to play the qualifiers mappool once. There are no exceptions, and there are no retries.

Knockout Round Rules
Stan Full Area• All matches will be played in a single elimination bracket, which will be listed on the Challonge.
• Each round will have 2 bans, as the pools do not change. Double-banning and double-picking are allowed.
• In ForcedMod (FM), players are required to take either Hidden (HD), HardRock (HR), Easy (EZ), Flashlight (FL), or any combination of these. At least one player must take HardRock (HR), Hidden/Hardrock (HDHR), or HardRock/Flashlight (HRFL). Easy (EZ) score will be doubled. In other words, an SS on Easy (EZ) would be the same as a NoMod (NM) SS.
• Tiebreaker is FreeMod, meaning you can choose any of the ForcedMod mods, or simply NoMod (NM).
• The losers of the Semifinals matches will play again against one another during the Finals for third place.
• Rounds will be played with the following "best of" structure:
Round of 64 & 32: Best of 7
Round of 16: Best of 9
Quarterfinals: Best of 11
Semifinals & Finals: Best of 13

Procedural Rules (Knockouts)
• If both members of a team are not present in the match lobby 15 minutes later than the scheduled match time, the match is forfeited regardless of circumstance. No rescheduling may be conducted during this period.
• In the unlikely event that neither of the two teams are present, both teams will be required to forfeit.
• The captains of each team will determine what method they wish to use to ban pools.
• If the captains have decided to select their banned pools, each captain will DM the referee their choice of ban. If both teams select the same pool, the referee will !roll 2 to determine the other banned pool.
• If no consensus is reached within 5 minutes, or the captains have opted to leave the played pool to chance, the referee will !roll 3 twice (or as many times as necessary) to determine the banned pools.
• The captains of each team will !roll to determine their picks.
• The winner of roll gets the second ban, the first pick, and the first choice of warmup (if applicable).
• The loser of roll gets the first ban, the second pick, and the second choice of warmup (if applicable).
• Warmups are allowed to be up to 5 minutes long (total length, not drain time).
• Map picks will alternate between each of the teams.
• When players are ready, the referee will type !mp start 10 in #multiplayer.
• The referee will force start the lobby if everyone isn’t ready after the timer has ended regardless of the circumstance.
• Players should move to their designated slots as assigned by the referee, who is encouraged to move the players to their designated slots in the lobby using the multiplayer commands should the player not comply.
• For the bracket stages, the referee will put a 120-second timer on every map pick and ban.
• If the timer runs out on picking, the pick goes to the other team at the referee's discretion.
• If the timer runs out on banning, the team will not get a ban.
• The referee will put a 120-second timer on readying up for every pick after it has been picked (including tiebreaker), unless told otherwise.
• If a player disconnects 30 seconds or less through the map, the map will be retried regardless of the circumstance. This instance may only occur once per match per team. This rule is based on the MP link and nothing else.
• If a disconnect happens more than once for the same team, the score at the time of the disconnect will not be counted towards the final score of the map.
