Hello,

I recently downloaded osu! to a newly built PC. When I set up my settings and skin how I remember having them before and tried to play, the circles and music were out of sync. When I add a global offset, the hitsounds sound off, even if I match up the circles with the music. I know this is a pretty common issue, all things considered, but please help me out.

I checked my offset to ensure that it is 0 and updated my drivers and computer/OS. As far as I know, I do not have any programs running that could be filtering audio, unless the new Razer Synapse version (Razer Synapse 3) is doing it. The only reasons that I can come up with are that the new NVidia GeForce drivers mess with osu! or that it is, in fact, the new Razer Synapse version.

Also, I have confirmed that the problem is isolated to osu! (or at least video games) by playing music on Spotify, which sounds normal, and playing videos on YouTube, in which the audio is in sync with the video.

Thanks in advance for the help.

P.S. I did not try re-installing osu! yet.

osu! version: Stable 20211225 (latest)

Do you have any enhancements put onto the audio like bass boosting or anything else?

Are you using Wireless headphones or wired? I am not to knowledgeable about Razer headphones or audio. If you have a suspicion that it may be razer messing when your Nvidia drivers then it is possible to test whilst it is closed or disabled? (If that is even possible?)

What audio device are you using, and is it different from the one used used with your previous computer?
They should be if it's a new pc but are your audio drivers up to date?

The audio device is the same: the Sennheiser + Drop PC38X headset. I checked that my audio drivers are up to date, but I am unsure if I did it properly. I went to my device manager and checked the drivers on my headset and all devices under the "Sound, video, and game controllers" dropdown.

I did not install any enhancers or anything similar. My headset is wired. I have just tried playing with Razer Synapse completely shut down, and the result was the same.

Do you have another pair of headphones or a different headset you could compare the audio with?

Also, what OS are you working with?

I could grab a different headset, yeah. I will try it later and report back if nothing else anyone says here works. I am on Windows 10.

Edit: I fixed it. I went to my audio device in Windows Sounds > Playback > [My Device] > Properties > Advanced and unchecking "Enable audio enhancements" and "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device". I also updated drivers associated with my monitor and then restarted my computer, but I believe it was the first thing that fixed the game.
