Is similar to Osu, and I think it would put a new spin on things.Might work for Space Channel Five-like songs. Hell, If this goes through, I'd be willing to make the graphics for it.

Oh man that is an ugly game style.. o.O

Interesting how the notes are all over the screen when all you're doing is pressing buttons.

This map has been deleted on the request of its creator. It is no longer available.
Kitsunemimi
urughghh.... he didn't FC it...

Wouldn't it be harder to time the hits when they appear anywhere on the screen? And also when the notes are kind of flying/homing in on the hits at an angle like that?

Notice the little hand that rotates 2pi on each note.

I`d like to see a game mode simmilar to this. I play dreamy theater on ps3 real fun. Hope this might be worth the thought of adding. I`d really like to have it :D
Hanyuu
hm it could be possible ^^ when you look at the placing of the notes in the video they are in distance snap except the combo change/jumps

and it uses 8 buttons right? so it will be a bit more challenging :D

and maybe configurable for a game-pad. i think its an interesting idea

I don't believe something like this will be implemented into osu any time soon (especially looking at peppy's first reaction to it)~

I love Project Diva :3 .The game style is odd,but that doesnt mean it sucks :)
Krisom
Project Diva's gameplay is really bad.

Project Diva 2nd, on the other hand, is kiinda better, with holds and pressing two buttons at the same time.

Anyways, this would require adding a lot of other keys to the gameplay, triangle, square, X and circle, and the arrows (aka: 8 in total)

The colored arrows mean that you must press 2 buttons at the same time (as far as I know :v)

Yeah, peppy's reaction = this wont be added. Even in project diva 2nd the gameplay is really basic. Maybe project diva 3rd? (If they make one, that is)
Daru
If anything it should be the reverse.
A homebrew app for the PSP that plays osu! beatmaps with project diva-like gameplay.

That said, does anyone still code PSP homebrew?
MeGl
Maybe that was bad example of difficulty?
That's more difficult than first video

To be honest, I would love to have this type of game mode! It would be really fun and kinda interesting to play! The only problem would be making the maps with selecting keys to press, so I guess it will need some sort of way that you can control the set key for the hit. :P But I honestly think this would be very fun!
bomber34
I could imagine that someone does this with a SB ~
RBRat3
Someone already coded it up for the pc... Have it somewhere on the HDD

As for the game mode itself its pretty much like ez2dj, DJmax, beatmania etc... with the exception notation doesn't follow a linear track so I don't see a need for it when theres too many implementations of the same idea unless somethings thought up that changes the way you play it.

If there was anything worth cloning and shoving into osu it would be the way you play an MPC. There is a korean game that simulates this although I forgot the name.

Basic idea if no one has seen an MPC http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2P1W3xjUio8
Azure_Kite
The only way you could compare project diva and DJMAX is if the lanes and their hit point randomly changed positions with every note you play.

Really. PD is nothing like ez2dj, lol.

Changing the way notation is displayed up doesnt change the game play, While NO it doesnt look similar at all but the same game play principles are there that have already been used over and over. You're still wacking 4-8 keys in time...

A crappy example is comparing sheet music to a guitar tab no matter which you use to play that guitar the end results the same.
Azure_Kite
By that logic though, there was no need to compare between games, as pretty much any music/rhythm game follows that principle.

To add to that with a half baked idea would be to throw OSU's game play into the mix, navigate with the mouse to the note and hit the note with the corresponding key label with the keyboard. left hand on A, S, D, F, Spacebar and right on the mouse and BAM!!! its now different.

stepmania on mdma

It uses osu! beatmaps, and converts them to PD-style maps.

I agree with peppy. Looks ugly.

I played this in japan on an arcade earlier this year. It was worse than I expected, and I wasn't hoping for much.

No it will never be implemented. Storyboard if you wish.
