i came across this problem while wondering why the heck couldn't I fc something that's supposed to be very doable for me (M2U - Lune [Hard] 3.1* +HD), and most of my misses happened from misaiming.. realizing that the screen feels smaller than usual, I switched back to Stable version and just fc'd +HD first try 99.50%..
to see the exact area discrepancy, I made a test beatmap in Stable where all the notes sit on each of the four corners of the entire playfield, then took a screenshot of the Auto replay, then used that as a background for a testmap in lazer that's basically the same testmap I just made for stable.
then I went to Graphics in Options to change the screen scaling for gameplay, but it can only stretch the playfield so much. at 100% it still falls off short.. here's what it looks like
where everything in the dark square grid area is the area from Stable, with the different-skinned darker notes at its corners.
because I also seriously play another game that I can't change mouse sensitivity for, I can't rely on using raw input and changing in-game sensitivity to match the smaller area either.. different playfield size requires different muscle memory, and I don't think it's ideal for me to learn how to aim on two different playfield sizes at once...
edit: nvm maybe it's just the ppv3 actually making fcing this harder, i replayed the map over and over on both versions to make sure.. but still the playfield size is definitely different, will probably matter a lot with maps that you've played many times on Stable
