Worth learning full area tablet?

I've been playing with this area for a while now and I'm wondering if it's going to help a lot to learn a larger area or if I should just stick to what I am accustomed to?

It's definitely worth it. As long as you find/use a pen grip that allows you to comfortably reach all 4 corners of the screen, a bigger area will be beneficial to your cursor stability and accuracy. (That is to say, if you reach a point where you can't make your area bigger without hurting yourself, it may not be worth making your area bigger)

I am not too sure if I plan to go full area but I was planing to increase the size so it's around 3/4 the size of full area. Thing I'm worried about is that firstly if I'm not used to the larger size I don't think I'll know what was the old area size I used so I can't revert it back. Second, I used to play with a really high DPI when using mouse so using a small area is easy for me so I'm not sure how long the transition from small area, which requires little movement, to large area will take.

When i first got my tablet I used a little under half-area, but I slowly increased my tablet area daily. It took me about a week or two to get to full area but I would say it was worth it. With a higher tablet area you have more control. You don't have to go all the way to full area, especially if you play full screen, but try to find the highest area that you can comfortably reach around the osu screen with.

I personally haven't been through a switch from that small of an area to the one I'm using now, but it took me a couple of hours playing easier songs on HardRock to get used to switching from 2200dpi (what I was using when I started) going straight to 800dpi (what I was using when I sold my DeathAdder in March, I now use 400dpi). It could take longer for a transition like that on a tablet as you may need to change your pen grip to allow more movement, which is something not really necessary on mouse. Getting used to it may take you a few days, it may take you a week or two, or maybe even longer, it differs for each person.

And just in case, you can back up your settings using the included "Preference File Utility" (Start > All Programs > Pen Tablet > Pen Tablet Preference File Utility).

Full area forced proportions is what i recommend every time someone gets a new tablet. If you are playing full screen on high resolution, then maybe make a little bit smaller box that is reasonable to play on. If you are playing in a window, then for sure play full area. It is well worth it. Your accuracy and control will be limited using that tiny square. At first it might feel like you are throwing your arm across the table to get the cursor to move, but you will get the hang of it pretty quickly.

Make yourself a template like this. Whenever you wanna change the area just lay that template over the drawing area of your tablet. It certainly made my life a lot easier when I switched over...

Or just save your area lol.

Thanks for the insight all. I'll try out expanding the area since now I know I can go back to my old settings whenever I want :p
