Modding because this song is AWESOME.
Also excuse me if I overlooked anything, this is my first attempt at modding~

SPOILER
Easy
01:04:949 This group of 3 hitcircles seems completely off-beat and comes very unexpected. I'd suggest changing it into 3 1/2th notes like you did earlier in the map already (and change the spacing accordingly, of course). The following few notes are off-rhythm as well (namely too early).

Normal
00:49:419 The two sliders + hitcircle seem a bit odd and off-rhythm.

Hard
Couldn't really find anything odd here. I really liked how you put the wiggly sliders in tune to the parts where the "Sing it" got cut off.

Insane
During the middle section, the fast streams alternate between following the foreground, high-pitched chiptune synth and the background synth. I'm not really good at explaining why, but this gets kind of confusing. I don't know whether this is an important issue or not, but it's something I've noticed.

I hope this mod helped you a little! I really love your take on this song and I'm hoping to see this map get ranked soon! Good luck~

Changed the three hitcircles to a slider, but I'm not sure what you mean by that second part; I'm trying to avoid having offbeat notes in this diffculty, as well.

Changed.

There is some layering to be done on the highest diffculty, because otherwise I feel it would be too sparse.

Hi, M4M from my queue!
Let's go.

[General]
Remove touhou from tags since it's in Source, You can add also: UFO Romance in the Night Sky - name of original track, Undefined Fantastic Object - name of game which contains that track, Lunatic Automation - album name.
Please change combo colors (especially 1,3) to lighter! Now it's hard to see approach circles.
Offset sounds a bit off for me. Try to decrease offset to ~-10 (probably negative offset is not rankable, try to set offset like 11284, please ask some experienced people about it). Remember to move objects and uninherited timing sections to new timing! (Note: Next suggestions will base on new timing)

[Easy]
Slider Velocity is too large imo... It would be nice when You change it to 0.6-0.8, now it can make problems for new players with playing fast sliders with low Distance Spacing. (It's not that big problem as in Normal difficulty)
I highly recommend You to reduce HP and OD. I think values between 2 and 3 should be ok.
There are some spacing problems. This diff shouldn't have any distance spacing changes (according to wiki)
I suggest You to remove stacks like 00:29:637 (2,3,4) - it's often hard to read for beginners.
You can remove timing point with SV change 2.0, this is not necessary.
Why You used many shapes like 00:16:931 (1)? I think standard, circular sliders look better as blanket.
01:03:519 (2,1) - This overlapping doesn't look good. I prefer to
01:33:166 (1,1) - You should change Distance snapping, maybe try this pattern:

[Normal]
This diff as like as Easy diff has really high Slider Velocity, 1.5 x 170BPM in Normal diff is too fast, I highly recommend You to decrease it to 0.8-1.2! Probably it make this diff so "hard" according to star rating (I know that it means almost remapping diff, but I think that re-placement of some objects would be enough)
HP and OD - similar to Easy, I suggest You to set these parameters to 3/4.
00:34:931 (2,3,4,5) - This stack under sliderhead can be hard to read, consider moving it away
00:36:342 (1) - I think that pattern like circle - slider instead of slider with repeat would better match rhythm.
00:47:637 (5) - Reverse for better flow?
00:49:578 (1,2,3) - These notes can be really unclear and hard to read, try to change this pattern to something other, for example like this:
01:06:342 (2,3,4,5) - This shape would look better if it base on regular pentagon, now it looks a little chaotic.
01:30:342 (1,1,2) - Remove overlaps?
02:01:401 (3,4,5) - same problem as 00:34:931

[Hard]
AR7 would fit this map better, try it.
00:33:872 (1) - Shape look bad, try to make it more circluar. This wave can look nicer.
00:50:107 (1,2,3,4,5) - Change pattern to pentagon? It can avoid some hard to read stacks.
01:25:048 (2,3,4,5) - Consider changing this pattern, looks pretty hard to play.
01:59:989 (1) - Same as 00:33:872
02:03:518 (3) - This slider would be less boring when You remove 1 revese and add circle at 02:04:225.

[Lunatic]
00:40:401 (2) - Remove last point - it's not needed (keep blanket).
01:31:754 - Put New Combo here.
I really enjoyed playing this diff. Maybe some patterns and flow still would be better, but it's not that bad :p

Nice song~

The difficulty has been remapped to account for the slider velocity change.

UFOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Overall:
02:16:943 - So does it just end like this or

Lunatic:
00:26:825 (5) - This is so close to being a triangle omg make it a triangle
00:36:354 (1) - Add clap on beginning of slider
01:08:649 (2) - It'd be nice if this matched the shape of (1), or vise versa
01:30:707 (2) - I get why there's a spacing inconsistency but it's still look a bit bothersome.
01:33:001 (8) - ^

Hard:
00:14:119 (1) - Adjust this so there's no overlap
00:36:707 (2,3) - Try to avoid multiple repeats like this.
00:50:825 (5) - Add finish
01:02:119 (5) - ^
01:33:707 (2,3) - Adjust these so they aren't overlapping
02:02:824 (2,3) - Same as before

Normal:
00:21:531 (1) - Try avoiding multiple repeats like this
00:50:825 (1) - This would be REALLY confusing for a normal player. It's ok to do tricks and stuff, but this is weird.
01:30:354 (1) - Really random slider here o-o
01:36:178 - This break is REALLY random o-o

Easy:
Keep the spacing at 1.0x. 0.5x spacing on an easy is REALLY confusing.
My biggest issue with the map is that it's TOO simple, a lot of it comes from the spacing and stuff.

It's a good start.

Heya, M4M from quite awhile ago.. Really overdue, so hopefully this mod can make up for it >_<;

MP3:
How about fading the song out just a bit earlier so it doesn't catch the lead-in to the next section that is missing. Instead it will fade-out after the hit at 02:15:531 -

Artist: ジェリコの法則
Romanised Artist: Jerico's Law

After looking on his website | http://jerico909.jimdo.com/ | and VGMDB | http://vgmdb.net/org/1153 | I think it would be better to use the artist name in these two fashions. | housoku (法則) means Law, and it seems he likes to convert it when romanising it. | This is a case where I think the Circle name is more accepted over the Arranger because he prefers it this way himself it seems.

Tags: (add/remove whatever I write in Bold)

Add:
東方星蓮船 夜空のユーフォーロマンス | This adds Touhou in Japanese, as well as the full original track its from.
ZUN | Original Composer/Game Creator, should always be credited in any Touhou arrange.
housoku | Law in Japanese.

Remove:
Romance | Already in the title.

You can also remove widescreen support from all your difficulties as you don't have a storyboard. You could also add your BG to the design tab to keep it in 4:3 aspect ratio instead of stretched 16:9 on widescreen. | http://puu.sh/64nny.osb | Save this to your song folder | This is what the result will be: https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/1214696 instead of this: https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/1214697 | Little tricks :P
-------------------

[Easy]
Maybe reduce OD AR HP by at least 1 so it doesn't seem so close to normal.

As CDFA already suggested. I would suggest increasing the distance spacing to at least 0.8. 1.0 is even better.

Control+Shift+A:

  • Beginning Pattern:
  1. 00:16:943 (1,2) - Pattern ideas: how about trying something like this? | http://puu.sh/64nZD.jpg | Try adding a drum additional effect to the tail end.
  2. 00:19:766 (1,2) - ^
  3. 00:22:590 (1,2) - More pattern ideas to follow the music better. | http://puu.sh/64o4F.jpg
  4. 00:25:413 (1,2) - Try ending (1) 1/2 earlier.
By doing most of these, you actually create an audible rhythm for newer players to follow. Try experimenting a bit, the best thing to do is to hit the key notes which players will be trying to play to.

    Finish Suggestions:
  5. 00:11:296 (1) - You can hear the finishes in the background for these next notes..
  6. 00:22:590 (1) - ^
  7. 00:26:824 (2) - ^
  8. 00:28:237 (1) - These next ones are for added effect and should really be considered.
  9. 00:33:884 (1) - ^
  10. 00:39:531 (1) - ^
  11. 00:45:178 (1) - Try adding a finish here, as it captures the background effects.
  12. 00:48:001 (5) - You can remove this finish, as it serves no purpose, and doesn't really end on anything notable.
  13. 01:13:413 (1) - This is optional, but you can try having a finish on the head of this as well
  14. 01:19:060 (1) - ^
  15. 01:24:707 (1) - You should have a finish on the head of this
  16. 01:30:354 (1) - ^
  17. 01:34:590 (3) - You could probably remove this one
  18. 01:43:060 (1) - Finish works nicely here
  19. 01:48:707 (1) - ^
  20. 01:52:941 (2) - ^
  21. 02:00:001 (1) - Since you put a finish on 01:54:354 (1) - Add one here as well
  22. 02:05:649 (1) - How about here as well on the head?
  23. 02:11:296 (1) - ^
STOP | Go apply these hitsound changes to your other diffs if you like them. I won't mention this again in your other diffs, so make sure you have them mostly consistent.

    Middle Section + Kiai:
  24. 00:50:119 (2,3) - Combine these into a slider? They sound like they belong together.
  25. 01:02:119 (1,2) - You might be able to get away with reducing the length of these by half. so they're 3/2 sliders. | http://puu.sh/64p7L.jpg | Either way works. This just adds a bit of variety.
  26. 01:02:119 (1,2,1,1,2,1) - Why not use the same symmetry for both of these measures? Since you already have a symmetrical map. A similar pattern would work well if they looked the same.
  27. 01:13:413 (1,2) - You could end these 1/2 earlier and still have an easy to read map. | http://puu.sh/64nOJ.jpg
  28. 01:16:237 (1,2,3) - go into 1/2 Beat snap divisor and have a 3/1 slider with a reverse at 3/2 (what?) | http://puu.sh/64nJu.jpg | It fits the rhythm much better and is still suited for a beginner difficulty.
  29. 01:19:060 (1,2) - same as 01:13:413 -
  30. 01:21:884 (1,2,3) - same as 01:16:237 -
  31. 01:33:884 (2) - This note is really out of place. How about removing this or changing the pattern here around?

This next section. Try referring to the notes above labled under "Beginning Pattern" since this is exactly the same rhythm and patterns to be used.

And also after the kiai, you can refer to the beginning pattern again.
Easy is pretty simple, I would really suggest remapping it, and using a DS of 0.8 to 1.2 instead of 0.5. At least big enough so 2/1 circles won't overlap each other.

[Normal]
You could probably bump up AR to 5.
This is such a big jump in difficulty from your Easy.. Maybe make this a little easier or the easy a bit harder? It feels almost like a whole extra diff could be placed between them.

  1. 00:18:354 (4,1,2) - How about moving the (1) lower a bit so you don't have this straight line connecting the three notes? | Even something like this: http://puu.sh/64pIM.jpg | Can add a bit of life into it. | Adjust the (2) as needed of course.
  2. 00:21:531 (1) - Much like CDFA suggested, I Also agree you shouldn't try to use multiple reverses like this. | 00:21:707 - This spot isn't that important, so you can immediately cancel that out. | Try something like this: http://puu.sh/64pR1.jpg | Maybe convert a slider into some circles. | Experiment a bit.
  3. 00:33:178 (5) - You can remove a reverse from this without losing any flow or rhythm in your music.
  4. 00:37:413 (3) - Convert this slider into a circle? | I don't think 00:37:590 - is really necessary to map, since you ignored 00:36:884 - and 00:37:237 -
  5. 00:44:472 (5) - again, you can easily remove a reverse on the end of this and still have a really nice rhythm / flow
  6. 00:48:531 - To keep the rhythm moving, how about mapping this spot, as well as 00:49:060 - so it makes the transition into 00:49:413 (1) - much more easier to read, since it's kind of on a softer note.
  7. 01:15:707 (4) - 1/2 slider like you do all before this?
  8. 01:21:354 (4) - ^
  9. The claps in this area seem a little inconsistent. I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to follow, but the best bet is to try and keep it consistent if possible.
  10. 01:26:119 (3) - instead of this multi reverse slider, how about a 3/2? | http://puu.sh/64qrK.jpg
  11. 01:47:649 (1) - like I suggested at 00:21:531 - Try using the pattern you changed for this area as well
  12. 01:47:649 (1,1) - pretty big gap. You should really try to maintain a constant Distance spacing if possible.
  13. 01:54:001 (1) - is this whistle intentional? | I would remove the finish as well, if you are going to put one at 01:54:354 (1) -

The kiai can pretty much be modded the same as I modded the last one. mostly just unnecessary reverses that you could easily drop.
  14. 02:10:237 (1) - First reverse isn't needed, Try a 1/1 slider here or a 1/1 spacing with circles.
  • Drum Whistle hit:
  1. 00:18:707 (1) - Instead of a clap, try a drum whistle addition on the head | http://puu.sh/64rl4.jpg
  2. 00:24:354 (1) - ^
  3. 01:44:825 (1) - ^
  4. 01:50:472 (1) - ^
  5. 02:13:060 (1) - ^
This one isn't bad at all, a bit hard for a normal at 170 bpm but otherwise plays decently. Removing some of those reverses would help a lot.

[Hard]
  1. 00:13:766 (4,1) - As CDFA said. Adjust this.
  2. 00:14:119 (1,2) - You could also make these hug each other like so: http://puu.sh/64raF.jpg | Try doing it with 00:15:531 (1,2) - as well if you want.
  3. 00:36:707 (2,3) - and 02:02:824 (2,3) - Again as CDFA suggested: Try splitting these into simple 1/2 sliders or another pattern. All These reverses aren't really fun to play.
  4. 00:40:943 (1,2,3) - how about you put these at x236 y200 (tiny grid) so it's a bit more even... or x244 y212 to create a triangle?
  5. 01:15:001 (5) - move this 1/2 forward to 01:15:178 - ? this catches the drum instead of.. well nothing. The previous note doesn't actually hit anything vital or important. I would really recommend at least deleting this note or have a slider pass by this. | http://puu.sh/64Vxj.jpg for example
  6. 01:20:649 (5) - same as ^
  7. 01:46:943 (3,4,5) - eh.. how about adding a curve or something into these lifeless circles?
  8. 01:54:001 (1) - again I'm not so sure about why you used the whistle+ finish here. Finish definitely works better at 01:54:354 (1) - like you have on this diff. Maybe something less impacting like a drum addition whistle may even be better.
  9. 02:02:824 (2,3) - what CDFA said again... =|
  10. 02:15:178 (2,3,4) - how about some variety in these notes? straight lines of 1/2 circles will eventually get pretty boring and you use a lot of them in this map.

This hard is pretty nice. Probably the best of your mapset to me. A few notes can be awkward but they aren't something you'll miss the second time playing it.
  • Drum Whistle hit:
  1. 00:18:707 (1) - Instead of a clap, try a drum whistle addition on the head | http://puu.sh/64rl4.jpg
  2. 00:24:354 (1) - ^
  3. 01:44:825 (1) - ^
  4. 01:50:472 (1) - ^
  5. 02:13:060 (1) - ^
[Insane]
Do the drum whistle hits on this difficulty as well if you liked them. They're right there^

  1. 00:26:825 (5) - how about creating a proper triangle with these? Or try x333 y254 so it creates a nice overlap (on the editor at least) on the upcoming slider. | Another suggestion is to move the (5) down below to around x400 y368... CDFA already noticed this one... zzz
  2. 00:42:001 (1) - much like CDFA suggested at 00:36:354 - to add a clap, you should change this into a clap as well. It feels strange that this is the only clap note mapped with a soft whistle, when following your hitsound pattern.
  3. 00:45:354 (1,2,3,4) - You could probably make some nice symmetry with these 4 1/2 sliders considering you have the whole left side of the map to work with. Even something simple like http://puu.sh/64X76.jpg would be nice to look at. Try out other slider shapes as well until you find something you like.
  4. 00:46:766 (1,2) - While you're at it, why not make these symmetrical as well? It'll help build up for the upcoming slider at 00:48:001 (1) -
  5. 01:01:060 (1,2,4,5,1) - Right now, I feel the angle for these is a bit too tight. Try something like | (1,2) at x424 y108 | (4) vertically flipped at x424 y276 | (5) x376 y192 | (1) x280 y192
  6. 01:04:943 (3,5) - Same Y coord so they can be horizontally flipped into each other?
  7. 01:30:531 (1) - If you placed this note at x239 y297 where the stream from a bit earlier ended. It'll create a little bit more of a triangle shape with 01:30:707 (2,3) - ... Apply this to 01:33:001 (8) - as well if you do it.
  8. 01:48:531 (5) - This (5) would actually flow better if it was stacked on the previous (3)
  9. 01:50:649 (2) - A little bit picky but... You should try to balance the ends of these so they end on the same Y coordinate. | If you drag it to the middle. You can see how off balance it actually is. | http://puu.sh/64Y8V.jpg
  10. 01:54:001 (1) - This is just really excessive and not needed.
  11. 02:02:472 (1) - Like the others, why not just use a clap here instead of the whistle.
Not much else to say, good luck~

Sorry this took so long :(

00:50:825 (1) - This would be REALLY confusing for a normal player. It's ok to do tricks and stuff, but this is weird.
01:30:354 (1) - Really random slider here o-o I wanted a bit more variety in this section for this difficulty, instead of having similar rhythms as before.
01:36:178 - This break is REALLY random o-o The breaks are more consistent; this one is longer now.

Easy:
Keep the spacing at 1.0x. 0.5x spacing on an easy is REALLY confusing.
My biggest issue with the map is that it's TOO simple, a lot of it comes from the spacing and stuff.

It's a good start.

Don't want to have too many finishes, so I'll forgo this. Thanks for the suggestions anyway.

This pattern is the same as the previous times it happens at the beginning, so I kept this.

Thanks for the mods!
