Put it simply, different switches are good for different things but what switches do you all think are best overall?

I think mechanical keyboards are overhyped when it comes to osu and other games.
What matters most is the hardware of the keyboard and the durability of the switches.
They are in my opinion, one of the least important parts of your setup.

If you're looking to buy a mechanical for osu though, get one with 1000hz (like the hyperx one everyone uses nowadays) and I would recommend getting it with brown switches. Because brown switches are like a good balance between reds and blues. It also happens to be a great switch for mania, or so I've heard.

Whatever you're comfortable with lol

Seriously though, its all preference. There's no "best switches for osu", there's only the ones that you think are the best. People find cherry mx blacks, blues, reds, silvers, and silver speed to be the best. Some people find non-MKBs to be the best. Some people dont even play with a keyboard. Just gotta experiment with what you might find more comfortable. If you're looking for the most comfortable switches, buy a hotswappable keypad (or build one yourself), buy some switches (if you built it yourself or if the keypad didnt come with extra switches), and see which ones you like the most. They're not too expensive. If you're looking for most comfortable non-MKB, go to ebay and buy either new or used membrane/scissor-switch keyboards.

Something to note though is that if you plan on buying a keyboard and not a keypad, only use reputable sites. I've seen people recommend keyboards on Banggood, but the one I got from there started breaking down. Some keys were double-tapping, one of my keycaps snapped, and the switch for that keycap got chipped. Wasn't even using it that heavily either. Current MKB I have was from here and it hasn't started breaking yet. They also got a thing that helps you find the right switch for you, but it doesn't seem any good since its review-based.

^ this is right. To make it even easier to read. Get browns if you like a bump on the way down, otherwise get reds or silvers.

There is no best overall , just get a sample pack or look at some charts online with specs and see what you like. Everything is your own preference

The best switches to use subjectively are the ones you use the most. I have Razer Yellows with a 125Hz keyboard, and they work fine for me.

Yeah, I really should've crunched it down to "Whatever you prefer." lol

EC Daisy have been awesome, considerably better than my boards with Cherry red and Kailh red switches.

I'm pretty comfortable using Brown switches, I can feel when I press them and they're fast enough to stream Gateways
axolotlity
