Edit: I wanted to make a Prinny spin wheel thing, but I don't think it's within my capabilities and software atm. If I did it'd probably just look fugly.

EditEdit: Here's what I have of my difficulty so far. I now have Photoshop CS2 again, so I can finally delete GIMP, lol. D: So anyways, tell me what you think. I ended up making an Etna Slider style beatmap, which I thought was kinda funny due to her name being Etna also. Plus I thought it'd be fun.

Thanks for looking at it. ^^

Also, ztrot, entire skin is complete minus countdown, mod buttons, and the score letters. (And some retouching work.) Should be done tomorrow evening or the day after depending on how busy I am for the 4th.

Also, still need to do hitsounds on my difficulty, I'll work on that sometime after the skin's totally done.

Isn't that the skull from Gurren Lagann? Don't know, don't watch Gurren Lagann. This skull was a recolored and rotated cutout from a Disgaea keychain. I think they do look similar, but I can't remember what the Gurren Lagann skull looks like.

And a lighting, use it only if you like it's effect:
[attachment=0:56760]lighting.png[/attachment:56760] That hitcircle creates a glass see through effect, with the hitcircle being the color of the note due it being white, and there being no white outside the main hitcircle part to be colored. You gotta use black for that part. I got the idea though, I did a slight blur so it's less sharp, I don't think it's too noticeable, but it looks a little softened now.

To be honest I'm not sure what's all in the beatmap's version of the skin atm. I'm still working on it, so any future mods, don't worry about the skin too much. ztrot you should put that in the first post since they're more likely to read that than this. ;D

Andd the rest of that post goes to ztrot, so whenever he comes around I'm sure he'll take a look at it and pop a kudosu your way.

Also imo [Demon] -> [Demon Lord] and [Demoness] -> [Beauty Queen Ultimate Overlord] (or just Beauty Queen if you're tight for space) just to feed Etna's canon ego/job class

Sorry for HARSH CRITICISM but I find this difficulty on the whole unplayable, due to the half-beat sliders that go back and forth without any visible pattern; you essentially have to either be good at hold-jumps or memorize the map to play it.

Skin stuff:
I've edited the comboburst audio to be a tad louder (and sans-hiss) as well as cropped the images to be more texture-efficient and better positioned on the screen. http://up.ppy.sh/files/disgaea-combos.rar here you go
playfield.png is not used; toss it
menu-back.png is also not supposed to be used (it's being used because of a bug in the current test build, ironically enough)
You don't really need any osu! default skin elements either (such as play-warningarrow) - just force osu! default as the skin and let the custom Disgaea elements take over
I find it tough to see the cursor when spinning/recovering from a spin. You might need to lighten or otherwise change the spinner's colours (remember, prinnies come in a rainbow of five to six colours)
The reverse arrow blends with the hitcircle way too much. Given the heart at the end, I'm assuming it's a "Flonne arrow", so imo it should probably be white with a gold-glowing effect. Possibly with some wings right before the heart, but I'm not picky. I think it should be white as a base colour, though.
Lastly, count1 looks kind of ugly. Take a look at Etna's skull earring, and her collar ring, for example. The shadow used for blending has very sharp, unattractive edges (which make the earring look like it has a poorly rendered spike through it) and there's a black line on the collar, as I mentioned. Looks pretty good for fanart, but no way would Etna fill out a bra larger than a muffin wrapper!!!

EDIT: oops I forgot, also make sure to crop the transparency out of other images such as spinner-spin, which contains excessive whitespace.

As for cropping the spinnerspin and clear, I used the blank space to position the images, because I didn't like where they were without the blankspace padding. If it's necessary I can crop them, that just changes where they appear, and I don't think the beatmap filesize is too bad atm. (6.1mb I believe) As for the count1, I don't think it looks that bad, and the shading/color goes with the prinnies I used. I'd be hard pressed to find a better image, and even if I did it'd take me an hour+ to figure something out. I did however blur the outline in an attempt to make it look better, and touched her earring and necklace up a little.

On a sidenote, I do agree with you about the slider repeat issue, but I'm really not sure what to do about it besides remapping a decent bit of the map, whereas new issues would probably surface. I think a lot of hard/insane difficulty maps have similar cases though where you kind of have to 'learn' the beatmap to a degree, so while it's annoying, I hope it's alright. If you really don't like the difficulty though, ztrot you can throw it out no problem.

By the way, sorry for not mentioning this earlier x_x so bug me when it's done, again, and I'll look at it.
Actually I agree, the edges are pretty messed up for the hitbursts' skull. The problem is I have to recreate them all now, cause I didn't save a .png at the time for 90% of the files when I did this skin, since I had like 50~ files open in PS then. x_x; So at the time when I made this I just kinda noted some slopiness and went 'Ehhhh...' I'll try to fix em up so ztrot doesn't eat me. D; Lol.

Edit:
Skin touchups attached. I've cropped a lot of things so the filesize should go down a good bit. ztrot, can you remove the following files? star, star2, section-pass, section-fail, hitcircleselect, ranking-accuracy
After that drop these files into the folder, force default skin on each difficulty, then full resubmit. I think everything will be taken care of then?

00:37:223 (1) - I'm still not sure about the change on this in my difficulty. Could you just add a 1/2 BPM inherited timing section and keep it the previous length like I said before? I think it's a little iffy/unintuitive. As-is it's like a random 2x BPM slider due to the 3~ second BPM change.

There's nothing wrong with that; the spacing difference is not great enough to consider the timing ambiguous. If that were to be considered unacceptable there'd be an extreme limitation on note placement, which is why I'm nipping this in the bud now.

On another note, I caught something I missed last time: Force default skin (song setup > Storyboarding > Skinning) as Preferred skin. In any skin with >3 combo-burst audio samples, combo-bursts start mixing/matching. I had Flonne pop up with Etna's voice. This is probably also an osu! bug, but for now, just force skin Default on all difficulties please <3

it could have been the song that plays when Maderas, I know that a very good song played there. Yet in the PSP ver. it was removed due to copyright (Not this one but the one that plays with Maderas), so it's been a while.

Any way GREAT map, it's not hard but challenging. And thats a lot harder to do then it sounds (well at least I think it is). And I would give a star, but we all know why I cant XD.
