NOTE TO MODDERS: I will not in anyway change the notes in terms of hitsounds and placing on the timeline. The only thing I would change is the spacing and gridding issues or what -- this is supposed to be authentic.

This song is too catchy IMO. Must map. :D Really cute opening vid, too. I never knew Taiko's openings had this very good way of making vids~

Anyway, this is the opening theme of Taiko no Tatsujin Portaburu 2. I even included the vid heh. Though the diffs here are standard maps, they're authentic when played on Taiko.

Whee~ comments pl0x. Actually, I need quite some help on Oni lol, the beats are placed a bit too trashy o_o

TEAM MOD POST WITH ZTROT.

Futsuu
Nothing really. Safe, easy, nothing staring you in the face going 'CHANGE ME!' All looks good.

Difficult
00:07:21 (2) - Down one.
00:09:39 (1,2) - Move up. This combo/it's spacing feels a little wierd, don't know what to say though.
00:22:30 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - Realign whole combo. It like curves, then from 4-7 fails at either a curve or straight line.
00:30:21 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - ^
00:27:76 (2) - Break?
00:39:48 (4>) - Realign. This looks sloppy.
00:49:03 (7) - This starts to go off the beatmap some. Move these 2 combos up a few grid spaces.
01:19:30 (6) - Up one.
01:28:48 (5,6,7) - 5,6 left one, 7 left two. Then take the next combo all left 1 to align with previously said 7.
01:29:39 (3,4,5) - Just make into a straight line.

Oni
Get an expert. Without using sliders or redoing at least some note timing, we don't know what to say about this. Spacing and placement is crazy wierd, some parts more than others.

Didn't download the video. See ztrot's awesome bonus post for thoughts on it.

I think that's everything.

Edit: I didn't get to look at the video size cause when modding I usually dl without video. To further what Ztrot is saying, it's about 7mb right? And it should only be 1:30~ long to go with the song? You should probably compress it a bit if you can, that's a bit high. One way to look at it is if this were a 3 minute song you'd be right at the 20mb limit.

Also, some of the pros, I liked the skin and stuff a lot. It really brought feeling to the map. I'ma star this, try to work on Oni a bit and I think this map'll be well balanced and looking good. Star'd.

This is just my post for the team mod me and shinde did. Good map btw Oni could use some real spacing work tho.

ALSO* your vid might be a bit to big. I lagged quite a bit with it. So much that i had to disable video.
Most vids don't lag for me either

Yes, I understand the spacing issues in Oni very much, that's why I'm asking for stuff on that D:

Well, like the suggestions on Muzukashii. Fixed.

I also halved the resolution of the vid, shouldn't be too problematic now.

[00:20:946] the next purple series is quite strange... if you want to make this series more intuitive, try to add a beat here...

[00:43:030] (1, 2, 3) transform these beats in a single slider, maybe circle-shaped...
[00:51:760] (spinner) this is an "easy" mode, isn't it? try to end this on 00:53:390!

TaikOsu-Muzukashii
[00:10:850](8, 1) like on the previous mode, unify these beats in a single slider
[00:16:850] (1, 2) try to change these two beats with two mini-sliders...
[01:14:120] (3, 3) try to add other mini-sliders here!

TaikOsu-Oni
[00:10:850] (10, 1) like the other modes, replace these beats with a slider!

My work isn't as good as team mod working, but I hope this will be useful... Star'd!

Uh, @Lokamp: I should note that I am not intending to change anything on the timeline since this is supposed to be Taiko authentic and osu! playable. I'm sorry.

Fixed the stuff on Futsuu.

Majorly redone Muzukashii, I took most of the suggestions above.

For Oni, your first suggestion is a bit nazi-ish and I don't like it. But to answer your second question, it actually makes its own tone in the song, meaning it's as if you add those hitsounds to the song's composition -- very irritating, I know -- the spacing is the only clue as to the 1/3 distance of those notes, and as I said, I cannot alter anything on the timeline...

First, Don and Katsu are called 'Taiko drums' JInx. Lol, they were just given souls.

The wall slam of Don really is late on the actual vid, I think it was unintentionally synchronized. My biggest reference is when Hana-chan pouts in front of the 4 bells, a pinao stroke could be heard simoltaneously, which is actually how it was timed in the game. Kudosu for recommendation, though. Lol.

Gonna remove the audio from the video file, too... >_>

EDIT: wait a minute... wtf? When I removed the audio, the filesize suddenly got bigger by about 100KBytes... what is this D: I'm not removing that yet.

What? The spacing on the 6-10 is consistently still at 1.5x , a streak of 5 1/6 notes. Never mind, I saw what you meant. Fixed that by making 6-11 nearer instead.

Took 2 suggestions in Muzukashii.

Took suggestion on Futsuu.

  1. Your notes all need to be resnapped
  2. You should use the skin preference option instead of putting in all the taiko skin elements.
  3. Turn the hitsound volume down a bit
  4. Rename the difficulties to simply "Oni", "Muzukashii" and "Futsuu" =/
  5. Do you want to add Kantan as well? (I would like to see that :P)
  6. You should add this awesome SB :D (Just extract the files out into the song's folder, the images are supposed to be in the "SB" folder)

@matt: it's snapped to 1/6. I'll look at the SB when I get home. But should I really replace the difficulty names? Because some people might mistake it as Taiko-only...
If I have time, I'll map Kantan.

EDIT: Looking at the SB elements via winrar right now makes me feel excited :D Thanks!

I know they're snapped to 1/6. If you move the note, it's actually not snapped correctly to the 1/6 lines. Fix plz
