i usually have problems with the colors red and purple when playing against a black background, it is just very hard for me to see these colors for some reason, is there a way to disable them?

play the map once to enable the 'fun spoilers'. then select the 'remove skin' option to remove the skin elements and colours. the colours will then change to the standard red/blue/orange/green ones.

You could change your default combo colour with a custom skin
if you go to the skin folder, and open up skin.ini, there will be a [skin color] section. you can change the default combo colours there
if you don't know how to make certain colors, just go into edit mode, find a random song, then press "f4" to see song options. There should be a combo color tab. Go make whatever colors you want, save map, then open the .osu file (there should be an option under the file drop down menu) and find the combo colors there. Just copy paste it into the skin .ini file afterwards.
