Help learning 7k osu mania

I've been playing rhythm games for awhile, (Like 8 months) originally I started playing fnf, and got good at it, so I stopped for awhile. Then I came to Osu! and found the beatmaps were a lot different from fnf, I can barely complete 4-6 star 4k beatmaps and I just got bored on 4k. Now I'm beggining to play 7k, but I'm really bad at it, I can get A or S rank on 1-2 star maps and get B's on 3 stars, and Can't really do 4 stars. I was wondering if there were any suggestions, such as what My scroll speed should be, my skin, maps to practice, etc...

Usual scroll speed: 26

Scroll speed, keybinds, and skin are based on preference. If you're comfortable with your current settings then you could continue playing with them. Don't be afraid to experiment with different settings tho.

As for charts, play anything that you feel comfortable playing (getting an A or higher). Any map will do and the improvement is passive.

All preference, as long as your scroll speed isn't like 10. If you can't find any maps, I heavily recommend playing convert maps for songs you like to get basic finger independence down(knowing which keys to press with which finger). Other than that, choose which thumb you want to hit the spacebar with(you can use both, but jakads said its more of a hassle) and play more.
