Did my tablet just... die?

So I was playing osu just then. I was doing pretty well half-way through Ascension to Heaven before I realized that my cursor started to randomly and sporadically jump to a random location for half a second. Huh, that's strange I thought. Then I continued playing and realized that my tablet started to get a lower and lower hover distance. So I had to hold my pen closer and closer to the tablet, until eventually it just forced me to drag.

Then, it stopped working altogether. Now my tablet won't respond to my pen or anything. The light on the CTL-490 indicates that it's powered and recognized by the computer, but it just won't function anymore. I tried plugging it out and back in, restarting my computer, switching a cable and nothing.

Strange thing is that I've done nothing to it. It just went out by itself? I've had this tablet for around 3-4 years now. If there's anyone that can indicate whether it's truly dead or not will be greatly appreciated.

I think although I'm not too sure that your pen may have run out of charge. Maybe try to put the end of the pen against the notch at the top left of your tablet. That's all I can think of to fix the issue, sorry if it doesn't work. :)

Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately, it does not seem to react. I guess this is it then.

Try putting it in rice, but for real tho, delete drivers then reinstall if not working still then idk… (Edit) I did a little investigating and may have found a solution https://thegeekpage.com/fix-wacom-pen-not-working-windows-10-resolved/

I think it's probably more of an pen issue rather than a tablet issue. My friend's pen stopped working and he thought it was a software/tablet issue, but once he replaced the pen it was back to normal. Maybe you've dropped the pen really hard or threw it before, which may have caused it to break. Try to see if you can make sure that its definitely a tablet issue rather than a pen issue. If you use hawku drivers, usually it will indicate if it detects the tablet on the bottom left. If it does, then your tablet is probably still functioning fine.

If it's a pen issue, you probably will just have to get it replaced, but it's cheaper than getting a whole new tablet.
