Is it ok to use the osu maps for research purpose?

For example, training a neural network that can generate maps automatically (and may publish a paper).
I'm also glad to contribute this work to the open-source community of OSU if possible.

even though osu maps are copyrighted, im pretty sure research falls into fair use. gl with your neural network
