Non-English Meta Data

We all know there's an option "Prefer Non-English meta deta" in osu!.
And I just see VERY FEW no-english songs have non-english info.
So... Why don't we gather to complete the info of former songs? I think it will promote our experience of osu!.

It'd be cool. However, I'm not sure if stuff like that can be edited without an unrank, which is troublesome and stuff

Well, for what it's worth, when the epilepsy warning was implemented, lots of maps that have already been ranked have been modified to add the warning, and no unrank was done. Of course, that was years ago, not sure if BATs still have the power to do such thing

Anyways, @OP, the lack of non english meta data is mainly because it only affected newer maps (since the addition of that), and that addition is still fairly new.

BATs can haxsubmit a map to change metadata, but it's very rarely used, and I don't think it can be used for anything that appears on song select without breaking things. osz2 allows for much easier changing of a map's entire metadata, and once that's implemented then I imagine we'll be seeing a lot more unicode artists and titles!

The thing is that doing this for older maps would also require to change the .osu version, which would affect other things that changed like sliders, and would probably break the maps.

Admins can Force update ranked maps without the need to unrank but i don't think old maps are that much of an issue, maybe when osz2 comes something can be done but for the momment... not much can be done.
