There are a lot of really neat programs and websites out there, and I thought making a thread compiling these would be pretty helpful~ Many of these can be somewhat obscure, so I think this would help a lot of people save time.
Basically, post cool things that make life easier, but please don't post games (that's for this thread). Also, free stuff is greatly preferable because they're more accessible.

If you want to contribute, post using this format please; I'll try to update this post by quoting your post~

Short description of what it's about and what it does

Let's start!

Anki
An intelligent electronic flashcard program that utilizes a spaced repetition system to maximize efficiency in learning the material. You can make your own flashcards, or download pre-made sets (many of these sets are derived from popular textbooks or learning systems). Also syncs w/ many mobile devices.

It's an add-on for dropbox really similar to puush. You can screenshot areas or the whole screen and it saves the pics directly on your dropbox folder.
It also gives you a shorten link and saves on your clipboard for quick sharing. This is really useful when puush is down.

Basically it changes the lighting and color of your monitor to adjust to the time of day. Basically at night, your display will automatically lower in brightness, reducing eyestrain and helping you sleep after late-night browsing. Also if you have bad eyes or get headaches like me, it might help you with your eyestrain in general.
Newsmap
Projects news from all over the world from multiple news sources in an extremely aesthetic but also utilitarian way. Extremely concise and useful.

Puush
Use keyboard shortcuts or drag-drop gestures to quickly capture any portion of your screen or upload any file. These files are near-instantly puush'd, leaving behind a short URL in your clipboard, perfect for sharing. Paste these easily into your Twitter, IRC or IM clients. Share them with the world or make them private, for your eyes only.

The Old Reader
Allows you to easily browse content from multiple blogs/news sites in place; it's updated in real time

WinDrStat
A disk usage statistics viewer and cleanup tool for Microsoft windows that allows you to view the contents of your HD in a concise, efficient, and visual way.

Should really alphabetize these~ Also, would you mind if we (as mods) added things in ourselves? :p

Great concept though. I'll come up with a few in a day or so.

Seems a bit weird when you first turn it on, but once you get used to it, you'll see how obnoxiously bright your monitor really gets when you turn it off.
