I use Razer Yellow switches with a Razer Blackwidow Elite. They work just fine for me. What playstyle are you looking to specialize on? All-around is mine.

it's all preference when it comes to switches on mechanical keyboards
Zaike
2Keys Macropad CherryMX REDs (They're not that bad really)
Some even prefers Browns when they're used with a Membrane.

If it's your first time getting one with Mechanical switch, go for Reds.

Cherry MX Speed Silver is good apparently

Really the only non-preference advice I can give is don't get tactile switches for rhythm games, get linear switches.

Less importantly, you'll want lighter switches for speed (35-45g) medium switches for consistency (45-55g) or heavy switches if you're a masochist like me (55-70g).

Seriously don't get MX Vintage blacks, they're so heavy.

I use a keyboard with mx reds and it works fine for me, I don't really see why anybody would think they're really bad lol but hey it is reddit after all.

One of my friends (who admittedly doesn't really play that much osu!) uses Cherry mx Speed Silvers and he really likes them

The only problem I ever run into is noise, they sound great to me but my friends complain when I talk to them and play osu! at the same time. most likely jut my mic though.

The issues with MX Reds only really become apparent once you've used more premium lubed switches, and then it's obvious. MX Reds are scratchy, really scratchy. This doesn't really affect the feel of the switches, just the sound.

Again, unless you're into keyboards as a hobby like I am, it's not an issue.

I forgot one more thing: Make sure your keyboard is 1KHz (1,000 Hz), and not 125Hz like I have. I use a 125Hz Razer keyboard (Which was $130 USD at the time), and it's garbage for osu!, but not so bad for OutFox for me (maybe Quaver too).

It's honestly all preference. But linear switches felt amazing for me when I got them.

Lots of keyboard elitists will say Cherry is trash, or that you need to drop hundreds in keyboard upgrades (lube, stabs, keycaps...) but for all practical purposes, getting a reddragon keyboard for 50 bucks on amazon with red switches is more than good enough. All the hoity toity upgrade stuff that you might read about are really only for people who are into the keyboard making hobby.
