The beatmap selection menus link you to the map from the link if you already have it. It would be nice if right clicking would link you to osu!direct if you already have the map. This idea is also something I want in the game.

Thoughts?

Mouse 2 (right click) is currently used for absolute menu scrolling (Hold right click or the pen button on the side and you'll scroll directly where you want in the list). The only reason to open osu!direct is to download/redownload a map, but peppy has spoken of future changes to where maps will be fixed automatically. Plus if you need to get to the listing there's that globe button which is the beatmap listing button. As a cheap work around I just open the chat and go to #announce or #userlog and quickly type /np and click the link to get osu!direct to download if I see an update for a map (to make sure I get new files and such).

I don't know maybe there should be a redownload button for supporters to get it from osu!direct. This could be placed in the beatmap options instead.

Reading your post again kind of confuses me (left click opens np links with osu!direct anyways), but I've already written this so I hope this is what you were speaking about.

If you have the map downloaded, both clicks redirect you to the map in the beatmap list if you're in the list area. It will open osu!direct if you're in a window that cannot be directed to the beatmap in the list. Right click does nothing while over the chat which makes this idea feasible.

I'm not sure I agree with it auto-updating anything.

I np and do what I did but I exit to the main menu to open osu!direct. As for the auto-update I was speaking of instead of downloading just the .osu file it would download all missing files for the map and this could be done across all maps in your list. Peppy gave word of osz2 handling this, but we have yet to see osz2 for a while (I remember it being in the test build a while back). We will just have to wait and see, because he is swamped as it is handling as much as he can right now.
