How do I apply skins?

I assumed that; as soon as I heard about skins there would be a way to use them outside of customized beatmaps and according to some screenshots I've seen, it seems that my assumption was correct, but how do I apply them?

P.S: Sorry if there's a topic/thread explaining this, I have a bad habit of asking before looking. :oops:

umm copy the skin folder then goto local disk then program files click osu then select or find skin the paste it then restart your osu then goto option select skin and the skin will appear ..

I saw that but just skipped over it because I assumed it meant only for people making skins. Wasn't sure if it was an appropriate place or not.
And just to let you know, I usually don't.
