it's up to you tbh. You know yourself the best, why did you have rely on us where we don't even know who you are?

If you're not satisfied with your skill, take a break. Most players have their best play in their best condition, don't force yourself too much.

As stated above, just do what you think you should do. I will however mention that it took me about 6 months between 7th and 8th dan. Idk if it's a huge gap in difficulty or if I just suck but either way, stuff like that can happen.

The most important thing is to see if you're still having fun. Don't keep forcing yourself to play just because "I need more pp" or "I need to clear this dan." If you still enjoy the game though, you can still keep playing and just play what you find fun.

If you want to quit, go for it.

Skill progression differs from person to person, but there will always be a wall. Maybe you've hit that wall. Identify your technique; maybe it's bad. For example, I've never learned to wristjack until recently, which was stopping me from getting good scores. I learned it and the sudden skillboost is satisfying.

Maybe you're just overthinking it. I've always had this thought of not getting better ever since I started playing. That's just normal. You don't really get to see your improvement as if it was a school grade.

Regarding dans. I wouldn't think too much of it. Think of it more as a test. Maybe you're a runner, but you run just for fun, don't think much of your speed, stamina, whatever; but you improve naturally. Then, you test yourself. Maybe a 100m or something (I don't run lol) to test your speed.

Mario paint sucks LOL don't compare your score on it with other 4 star / 5 star levels

Dans should never be the only method of judging your skill in mania. You're setting too high of an expectation for yourself to the point where you're getting mentally drained and frustrated. I recommend slowing it down and taking it easy for a while. Clearly, you are improving if I look at your rank graph. Think to yourself, am I setting scores I couldn't set 2-3 months ago? If the answer is yes, then you are definitely improving. But if you still want to quit, then no one is stopping you.

Dans are the worst thing to exist in this game. They will crush your mentality and cause a super negative mindset.

Dans are like, if you think you can pass it, pass it. If you can't, don't use the dan to train yourself - play other maps and put the dan aside.
