So I started playing 7k a few days ago and I use binds: a-s-d-space-l-;-' And everything except for space feels normal but whenever I have to click space it feels so awkward and hard. But people keep saying to 100% use space. So should I switch or just keep trying to get used to it.

Just keep playing. You just started a few days ago so it's normal that it feels awkward. If it still feels weird after a few months when you have improved a bit, then I would start considering maybe some unorthodox keybinds.
Keep playing with space. This happens to everyone where they can't get used to space or space feels weird to play with. Overtime, you'll get used to it.
space is objectively the best keybind for the center column in 7k, just keep using it and youll get used to it
it may feel weird that you have space-l-;-' because you're barely pressing the space bar since your thumb may be on the very right edge of the space bar. I would suggest pressing the spacebar in the very center so having keybinds spacebar-j-k-l or spacebar-h-j-k can be more efficient.
other than that using the thumb is one of the hardest things to learn about 7k, playing more should help you understand how to press the space bar efficiently with whatever part of your thumb feels most comfortable doing it. hope this helps.
