Came here to request that the maximum rankable resolution for storyboard elements be changed to 1024 x 768, or perhaps 1280 x 1024.

As per this chart, and common sense, and widely applied logic, this proves that the dinosaur (P1/2/3/4) [P4 from earlier on, not Sandy Bridge) is no longer is in use. Just about all netbooks have the CPU power to render 720p to 900p with little to no problem I might add.

I'd even urge that there be a poll started to see just how many people're on machines with CPUs incapable of rendering 1280 x 1024, as all would be amazed to realize I'd guesstimate that less than 5% of this game's users even have a rig incapable of such.

oh yes support ofc

also to add on top of that its really redundant having to "scale" the 800*600 sb images to fit the 1024*768 backgrounds (strobes bg swaps and such) which can also make them look really blurry etc.

1024*768 would be the ideal maximum imo since that is the current max res. of 4:3 BGs

Moved to ranking criteria.

I fully support this though~ osu! already has HD skin elements, so why is SB so restrictive?

As someone who plays at 1920x1080 I support this.

Is that still relevant? Can someone tell me? Else I'll move this and mark it as "no change".

I think it should be added. The entire thread has been positive about it, and with the advancement of computers, 1024x768 shouldn't be too much of an issue for active players.

I will consult peppy over this.

sb's base resolution is 640x480, going higher as we have it now is slightly silly without supporting it in code, so this is more something that needs to be addressed with a feature request rather than a criteria amendment

I thought it was to reduce beatmap size actually.

Damn, I was supposed to be the one who made this request.
Full support from me though of course~

This topic is discriminatory against our Windows 98SE eMachine that we have in storage. I hereby request that this proposed rule change be denied as a result.

I support this notion as long as storyboards taking advantage of this are properly optimized. But yes, as Eph said the base resolution of SBs is 640x480 so if it wasn't reprogrammed you'd have to shrink an element down to fit within a 640x window.

needs to be supported in code as i said earlier, so better off as a feature req. rather than a criteria amendment
