Hey :)
Well i dont know if any of these are possible or if its just me dreaming but i have 2 things i dont enjoy, so i wanted to throw them out there:

1. Maybe i am the only one who feels that way, but the "background dim" is just not existend. If i pull it to the maximum, literally nothing has changed.
Is it possible to change that, so the maximum dim would just turn the background black, so you can set it from the normal background to complete darkness. Otherwise you have to either hope there is a storyboard and ignore it, so the background turns black, or delete the background pickture in the osu file...

2. Nearly everyone i have asked about this game said: "Yeeah i played it some time ago, but it was way too hard, so i deleted it a few minutes after."
This is obviously the case, because the people just started off with way too tough songs.
Is it possible to give osu! a few maps at the start, besides the tutorial, which are really easy and funny for beginners?

Just my thoughts here, thanks for reading!

You can turn your background black after 1 full playthrough of diff in mapset.

Why do those things like ignore skin and stuff only activate after one playthrough?
I mean: maybe thats the reason you dont beat the song...

1. This is created, to appreciate the beatmap creator, the skin, and the effort which he put into the map. You have to play it once, to see it, and then you can disable it, "after you appreciated" that :P
2. Maps are not included, because peppy doesn't have licenses, to pack songs into installator. When you download a beatmap, we assume that you have bought the song, which you want to play.

Here's how it works: Storyboards are always played the first time you play a map. This cannot be bypassed. They will always play once. After you pass the map once on any difficulty, a new toggle option will appear, allowing storyboards to be disabled on a per-play basis. What does this mean?
  1. The main reason for me (and anyone else that agrees with me, if anyone is out there) being strongly against a disable is now gone: the storyboard is still appreciated by the player as they will see it once.
  2. The main reason for everyone else wanting the toggle is still satisfied: you can avoid any lag or distraction you may be experiencing by toggling off the storyboard after you have played through the map once.
  3. Those that may say "but the map lags so badly I can't even pass it with a storyboard" can have the option of watching auto play it. I will probably allow autoplay to be acknowledged as a "pass", so the next time you choose to play the map you can disable the storyboard.

So basically you say, that it is illegal to play the game, if you did not bought each and every song you play?

Don't generalize the user created content with the client itself. Playing the game is not disallowed nor illegal, but using copyrighted music without permission may get you in trouble (probaby wont, though)

Depends on the tracks particular licencing, but by uploading a beatmap with copyrighted music you're for free distributing a track which otherwise most probably would have been sold, and as such you're to take responsibility for it. Downloading the beatmap can technically be illegal as well, just that nobody really seems to care. The playing itself isn't illegal but the distribution may be. There has been cases were users have been fined for such, so even though the odds of you getting in trouble for something like that are slim, depending on where you live you may want to be careful with it.
