iirc, right now the difficulty (number of stars) of a map decides the score multiplier, so maps with a higher star-rating will be worth more points than ones with lower difficulties. However, the star-rating system is not very accurate, and a lot of the time it rates maps easier or harder than they actually are. As a result, the map is worth more or less points than it actually "deserves." So, I think there should be a setting when making a map where you can adjust the amount of points the map is worth. This would be particularly handy for maps that end up exceeding 10 million, which now, unless they are hard enough, have to be made harder or shortened in order to be ranked.
This feature should only be used in special cases, and as with every other map feature, BATs would have to approve of the multiplier, so I don't think abuse would be much of a problem.
