When I play any map for the first time in 5 hours or so my screen freezes randomly for a few seconds while I play and this happens every time. Sometimes it isn´t the first try where it freezes because I restart to quickly and it happens at a later point, but especially in longer maps it is a big issue because I fail almost everytime when this happens. I don´t see any frame drops while this happens

Your CPU may be overheated, causes things to run slower, including osu!, result in lag spikes.
Ah, I have once played some self-created beatmaps, and get glitched, after deleting those, my game client works just fine.
Try to find and identify your maps, skins, etc.

Use Task Manager and turn off everything that consumes CPU (Discord Overlay, Steam etc).

Is anything using up lots of computer resources though? Please check task manager while playing smth and see what it looks like :)

I looked in my task manager and there is nothing that uses up a lot of resources

Try enabling compatability mode in the osu! Settings

1. check if "fullscreen mode" and "render at native resolution" are turned on or off, turn it on if it doesn't already did that. it causes high latency and screen freezes for me.
2. check for the latest driver for your gpu and other appropriate drivers needed for your OS. Outdated drivers can sometimes mess with game performance pretty bad.

Now it works my gpu needed an update and I didn´t see it.
