I've been playing for a couple months with mouse (750 dpi) and I'm not sure whether or not to turn on raw input.
Raw input != mouse acceleration. It depends on windows settings.kaleksi wrote:
Better to do it sooner than later, once you get used to it your aim will probably be more consistent. Although some people do prefer mouse acceleration and get used to it. It's not the end of the world if you decide to keep using acceleration.
Raw input != mouse acceleration. It depends on windows settings. If I'm not mistaken, the way most games work is that enabling raw input overrides windows settings. So you can still have mouse accel on the desktop but in game it's disabled.
Ah I see, no worries. It's just that usually when people talk about "turning on raw input", what they mean is "turning off mouse accel", which is what I think OP means. If they already have accel disabled in windows, I don't think raw input would make much difference.killian wrote:
I actually meant that it's possible to play without acceleration and raw input.
Well, i even made mistake in my post aswell. I wanted to write something like "no raw input != mouse acceleration"
