Rework of 1/8 Sliders in Taiko

Hello. I want to request a Rework of the 1/8 Sliders in Taiko for very obvious reasons. As you know Taiko has sometimes really bad converted Standard Diffs. And some of them are even worse as bad. I am talking about 1/8 Streams which are nearly impossible for average (and even good) Taiko player. I am posting it here because it wouldn't really fit in Technical Support but it's still a really big issue which shouldn't be.

One of the worst converted Maps about 1/8 Streams is Mad Machine which is clearly impossible to fc due the hard 1/8 Stream (which isn't even fc'able with HalfTime) but this is a extreme example.

These are some examples from my side, they are enough Maps with this Issue. People which use the Taiko Set from the Wii Game has less problems but Keyboard player are in disadvantage and if I remember correctly Beatmaps should be playable at every Mode. So the Hyperdashes in CTB got fixed, so why not fixing 1/8 Streams in Taiko? My suggestion: Simply convert them as Drumrolls. And for the fact there doesn't exist 1/8 Circle Streams in Standard (except them with very low BPMs) this won't be such a Problem.

I don't see this being implemented retroactively. The thing about hyperdash fix in CTB is that it only caused increases in max score for the maps affected - some maps in Taiko would have a lower max score because of this, and the #1s would become unbeatable.

On the other hand, I'm fully supporting this for all future maps, though it would requite a .osu file format update.

1/8s are playable, just pretty damn hard

This doesn't occur often, and when it does it's not that big of a deal. I'd personally rather keep the 1/8s since there is zero challenge in having sliders all over.

There is already very few converted maps that are even remotely challenging, no need to make it worse~

You should rather encourage people to map more taiko specific difficulties.

Actually this sentence would not really working.



It's personally more unfair because very fast Streamer (Keyboard Player and Taiko Drum Set player) are always in this fact in advantage. And streaming extremlly fast should not depend if someone is good or not. Marisa wa Taihen na Mono wo Nusunde Ikimashita isn't really a hard Map, it's just nearly impossble (and I stay to this opinion) to fc it.

Sure but as I said, Maps should be good playable in all Modes.

Not everyone are good at everything. It's not unfair at all, hard =/= impossible. Mad machine and a very few others are exceptions which I do agree with are pretty stupid, but I find it silly to propose getting rid of all the challenging maps with 1/8s simply because they can't be FC'd by everyone.

You also need to be damn good at streaming if you want to FC mad machine in standard, is that unfair too? Keep conversion the way it is, but encourage both making and accepting others taiko specific difficulties.

That's the same thing as the discussion why and how should a Map being ranked. Ranked =/= plays good always (Just an example how I think about it)

People can fc TAG4 Maps too, they just have to be good. About accepting Taiko specific Diffs some people are too arrogant (I don't want to say arrogant but I cannot find a better word for it) to accept Taiko Diffs for their Mapsets since it will takes longer in their opinion.

However there are some very few examples of 1/8 Streams which aren't so hard at all. But these are very limited and I don't think they can be seperately fixed or left how they are at now. Inb4 nobody understands what I try to say.

Most 1/8 streams in converted maps are same color because streams in standard are pretty much all using the same hitsound so changing them to 1/4 streams could be an alternative to prevent having sliders everywhere.

I can beat it nomod, u jelly? please stop requesting things like: "Dood, this thing is too hard i wanna have sofrock. I can't sream 300 bpm so let's put a limit on max bpm. Dood, SV changes are hard I can't play it, let's not rank those maps."

I really agree with B&B on that one.

Standard map playability and fitness have priority over other modes when converted. Before being converted maps, they are Standard maps.
idk who said that but that's really how it should roll.
