Why I gain less pp?

I know that this topic has already been dealt with but I still can't understand it.

I'm new to osu! so I'm still trying to figure out all the mechanics. A few months ago I started noticing that, once I get a rank on a beatmap, in the online ranking it tells me that I got (for example) 49pp but below it tells me that I got 17pp. On my profile it says I got 49pp but it gives me positions in the overall rank of 17pp.

My English is pretty bad so I'll make an example.

total pp: 890

gained: 49pp
actually gained: 17pp
Accuracy: 96,44%
(It says "weighted 100%", idk if it can be useful)


total pp: 890pp + 17pp = 907pp

global rank I got: +2270

why didn't I get 49 pp? There's a way to get "full" pp?
Do not link some wiki pages, I'm stupid, I can't undestand. Please explain it simply.

Only your top 1 play will give 100% of the pp, after that it's weighted and only give your a percentage ( depends on where it sits in your top 100 )

when you set the top play, all the previous ones will get less weight (the former top play will get the 95% weight instead of 100). That's why you'll never gain the full amount of pp.

most pp = 100%
second most pp = 95%
3rd most pp = 90%
4th most pp = 86%
5th most pp = 81% etc...

examples
16252 pp = 100% (16252pp)
10000 pp = 95% (9500pp)
9899 pp = 90% (8910pp)

i tried not to speak english...
