Agka brought a guide to my attention that I think should be shared with the Osu!Mania community at large, because it covers a lot of topics that are difficult to explain.
The guide is located at: http://www.cosmovibe.com/ncguide/
It was written for a game called KBO (KeyBeat Online), but because KBO and Osu!Mania are relatively similar in many ways, a lot of what it discusses is directly applicable to Osu!Mania as well. It discusses the basics such as Sync and Pitch Relevance but also discusses much more advanced ideas such as what they term "Connotation", technical tips for how chords should work based on the actual musical chords you hear in the song, jackhammer theory etc.
It only explicitly discusses 4k and 6k, but the ideas apply to everything, there are only a few places where they even use column numbers to describe patterns. This guide is not about "here are some patterns that are common" but more about "here is how come up with patterns. These are the things you should pay attention to and think about when you try to come up with a pattern" etc.
