To add a skin to the beatmap, you have to add the skin components to the beatmap folder. (You can check out other skinned beatmaps for examples.
If you don't know where your beatmap's song folder is, go to the editor and click file -> open song folder
If you don't know what the skin components are, I advise using osu!me to download the template skin and checking out
