with that out of the way, let's go!
what is catch?
ㅤcatch the beat, often shortened as "ctb" or "catch", is a gamemode in osu where you control a character at the bottom of the screen. the objective is to catch fruits raining from the sky. the default keybinds are space to dash, and arrow keys to move.
what are dashes?
ㅤdashes are used when a fruit is impossible to catch normally. pressing your dash key will double your character's speed.
cups (easy difficulties) won't have that many dashes.

what are hyperdashes?
hyperdashes are special dashes that are featured in the harder difficulties. they are indicated when a fruit has a red outline. hyperdashes are more distanced than normal dashes, meaning that, for example, if there is a fruit on the left corner of the screen, and then a fruit in the right corner, it will be a hyperdash, but if the second fruit is in the middle instead of right, then it will likely be a normal dash
what do the difficulty names mean?
ㅤthe difficulty names in catch are different from the standard ones. the difficulty names are:
cup = easy
salad = normal
platter = hard
rain = insane
overdose = expert
deluge = unofficial name for difficulties harder than overdose

what maps should i play?
the maps you play are up for you to decide. try playing maps with easier difficulties (cup/salad) if you're new to the game.
