Current guideline stating "Objects should not be placed during a 1/1 long note's hold duration. However, using an object at the beginning or end of a long note is fine." might be a bit too vague and can use clarification.

First of all, it doesn't clearly imply if it is acceptable or not to place a rice note in the middle of a 2/1 hold, that is at the 1/1 mark. It also doesn't do a good job at telling if it is about no objects at all during a long note hold regardless of duration, or if it is acceptable of placing rice notes wherever on a hold as long as it is over 1/1, such as a 3/2 long note with a rice note after a 1/1 duration.

Depending on how this guideline should be interpreted, it needs to clearly differentiate when it is okay to place a rice note during a LN hold and when it is not, plus if it should be under strict scrutiny of a 1/1 hold or if it is 1/1 hold and longer. Since the most likely interpretation of this is there should be no rice notes before a 1/1 long note hold, it can be rewritten as follows:

Objects should not be placed before a 1/1 hold duration. However, using an object at the beginning or end of a long note is fine.

It both implicates that you cannot have 1/2 distances between a long note hold and a rice note, and by extension that you can place a rice note during a long note hold after a 1/1 distance have passed.

Objects within a hold duration should have at least 1/1 of distances with both the starting point and the release.

and yeah plus the exceptions

I would recommend to add more clear wording if "Objects should not be placed during a 1/1 long note's hold duration. However, using an object at the beginning or end of a long note is fine." is too vague for you.

With "Object should be placed with a long note that has been passed by 1/1 duration"

Tbh imo, the current rc is clear & concise enough, idk why you find it confusing tho.
Also MJHs word is a bit too strict for current rc, that does mean "a note can not be used on long note duration that has been passed 1/1 duration" (that requires 1/1 release & starting point interval from long notes)

Just stopping by to say I agree it should be reworded, when I started out I didn't understand what it meant either.

The way I interpret this sentence is that objects can't be placed BEFORE the LN.

This actually means something different in than the standing rule, as this would make something like a 3/2 LN with a note at 1/1 against the guideline. Not that I am actually opposed to that.

This can be easily interpreted as "Objects should not be placed before a 1/1 hold.". Under this interpretation, ending a 1/2 stream with a LN in easy would be a seemingly guideline-violating act. This interpretation would also conflict with the later clause. Therefore, the reword could actually cause more confusion than the current one.

I would propose the following that could alleviate the above issue, with the obvious flaw of being wordy:

Objects should not be placed during a long note's hold duration, unless they are at least 1/1 apart from the start of the duration.
I am not very inclined toward a rewording. However, if we reword this, the following from Normal guidelines might need a reword too:

Objects should not be placed during a 1/2 long note's hold duration. However, using an object at the beginning or end of a long note is fine.

an adjacent note before the release should be deemed as trickier a pattern than the case with a starting point imho. that's the reason I suggested the revision on the current guideline.

This interpretation omits the word "duration" which is a pretty important word in the entire sentence, since it's about implicating how long a long note should be before you can place objects within the long note. Another problem with this interpretation is it treats the entire guideline under context, when guidelines are meant to be treated in a vacuum. There probably are better ways to word this still, it was a pretty quick suggestion I wrote.
