hitcircleoverlay.png showing when skin is ignored [confirmed] [resolved]

Skin doesnt load properly sometimes when i check Ignore beatmap skin it does this

Upon playing and completing the song i then replayed the song but ticked ignore beatmap skin and my skin and map skin sort of... mixed..
Half was beatmap skin the other half... my skin

This issue is reproduced randomly.





Im running windows 7 (64bit)
osu build: b20130325
Anyone else confirm this?

It looks like you've disabled the beatmap skin and are now watching EzomriNozomu playing with the default skin. I don't see a skin difference between the two screenshots either.

Is this what you were experiencing? http://www.twitch.tv/theowest/b/380525686 edit: it's gone. I guess twitch removes videos if you don't chose to save them forever. :( I recorded this live by chance. In the video you can see that I tried other maps, but I later realized it was the beatmap's own hitcircle that was showing. It only appeared after I played the sliders, but you could see the hitcircles right from the start.

The skin was ignored, just like your bottom screenshot there. As you says, it's pretty random. I can't even replicate it on this map again. but at least I can say I've experienced it. (I almost thought it was the new default skin note select, lol)

I had this kind of problem too..It only ignored HALF of the beatmap's skin because I can still see the beatmap's custom hit circles and stuff.
The only way I can fix this is to remove the custom skin from the beatmap's file. :|

Another confirmation for multiskin bug..
This time the "hitcircleoverlay.png" is at fault.
I accessed the bug this way:
Open osu! > download new map > import > play it once > disable skin > play again with "Hidden + etc" > bug.



To solve the problem, you have to restart osu!

Indeed - I've only had it happen to me once, and I wasn't even trying to replicate. Might try a bit more later on.

Following these steps I get this every time (though I'm not sure if all steps are necessary).
1) Play a map with custom skin to completion.
2) From the ranking screen, retry the beatmap.
3) Open the Visual Settings while it is loading.
4) Wait for the spinning loading indicator to disappear.
5) Check to ignore the custom map skin.
6) Wait it to load again.
7) Bug happens.

Well I happen to replicate this I guess.
> Open osu!
> Get some new map with skin
> Play it
> Disable skin
> Play it
> Restart Game
> Play that map again
> Bug

The bug happens on the old maps with skin as well, but this bug occured the most after importing a new map with skin materials. I can't really say its the best way to replicate this bug, but it worked for me I guess.
