All the modifications listed above are to apply to official download of Winery-powered osu!mac (which is the only *official* I can see).


Basically, Winery-based official download is using wine, similar in some way to Winebottler. Wine will not be run as a service, nor it will make any noticeable fingerprint on your system. You are free to delete downloaded engines within Winery if you wish to do so.

Winery only provides bottled (read: isolated) version of wine, allowing to package the whole thing into an .app structure, which will be able to be run on any macs with no necessary-to-install daemons/services/libraries.

Well, I may not seem getting the whole idea of deleting Wineskin.app inside of package and uploading screenshots of what's left, and I am more than sure that the osu! alias points to main osu folder in drive_c.

Screenshots above are made basing on osu!_20121025.dmg, which is exactly what you get by clicking the OS X Installer link. Here it is anyway: http://mi.osu.ppy.sh/osu!_20121025.dmg If you are directed to any other image, please post link here, so we could diagnose that special file.

Can someone build a new package for me so I can update the official one? I will do this myself when I find time, but if someone is capable this may help get it out to everyone faster.

Somewhat working osu!.app


Changes:

WS9Wine engine updated to 1.5.24 (25 and 26 are unstable)

CJK out-of-the-box. winetricks corefonts and CJK from Windows 7 are added inside drive_c/windows/Fonts. Further, I will try to delete all the unnecessary fonts.

(Trad. Chinese looks weird: seems like Japanese fonts have higher priority, so actual Trad. Chinese glyphs are only shown if Japanese version is not available)
(Japanese glyphs look bolder, Trad. Chinese are rather thinner)


That's pretty much it.

Yeah el_leopardo, I've been using the osu!.app that you sent since you posted it here, but I must say that it's extremly buggy and has even started to make my mac lag.
Bugs I've encountered:
-osu! freezing and needs wineskin to be closed
-osu! always needs to be closed with wineskin
-When you sometimes play either Taiko, CTB or mania you just start hearing the beeps like you're not in the program, making you fail the song.
-Using mods will crash osu! 75% times of the tries that I've done. (Tried 50 times in a 3day time).

Otherways it's good. And I can sneak in some ranks everyday.

I've also noticed that this osu! version is quite laggy and doesn't register everything on rhythm from what I've experienced. However, it is a half-working version (literally) that actually loads, so this is a step in the right direction.

this is lame my client hasn't worked in over 2 months if someone can give a link to an actual working app that they fixed that would be good but the one i get from the site doesn't work at all

It says my version of osu! is not up to date, I try clicking update but it just stays on the title screen. But now that won't even open for me.

OSU for my tablet stopped working, I click play and it says updating library when it reaches about 97% it says: unfortunately, Ous!droid has stopped working.
Does anyone know how to get it to work? :(

1.) create a new thread, aa this is not the same
2.) osu!droid has no production anymore, so it can not get fixed

Well when i try to open Osu! the name Osu! wont show next to the apple on the top left corner when i saw the force quit option Osu! wasnt even on there ( sorry for bad english :? )

My problem with osu is that it just keeps updating, i click on it, and it opens with it saying that it needs to update, it gets to 100% then closes then opens again and it does the same thing

Is this supposed to happen because i read that that it could take 5 minutes to open but i dont know if it is just meant to keep updating

Hello everyone!
Before I got Osu! I downloaded a program called 'Quartz' . For me, it helped a lot.
Sometimes you need to start it two times or so to run the game but all in all it's better than nothing I guess :D
