Problem details:
I was editing my map and suddenly the editor started crashing so I saved the map and restarted osu. Now when I try edit the map I can only see the menu bar, the rest is just a black screen. Also - when I try to play the map from normal mode the game either crashes or I get error and map won't open. What can I do about it? :( Or at least, what can I do to not lose the map?
Other maps works perfectly fine, it's just that one that won't open. I saw some threads about similar/the same problem and they fixed it with pressing ctrl+alt+del but it doesn't work for me. ALSO, for some reason I cannot go into windowed mode, it's always fullscreen for me. Lately osu is just working weird to me, like when I go to the desktop with windows button and I want to go back to osu I gotta press the osu icon a LOT of times to get back because it's showing for a sec and then I'm on the desktop again.
EDIT: ok nvm I've just tried to use the repair osu shortcut and most of my maps got deleted, including the one I did :)))))))

osu! version: Stable 20201229.2 (latest)

What's the error you get?

,,An error occurred somewhere in osu and has been reported. osu! will attempt to keep running''

Based on your description of the issue this could probably be fixed by disabling "Compatibility mode" in osu!'s settings if you had it enabled.

Repairing the game should not have caused your maps to disappear. Did you also lose your skins and settings when you did that?

I've lost maps, skins and local plays:( settings stayed the same. EDIT: actually? no, settings changed but they are not the default ones, I feel like I went back to my osu from some time ago, I'm not sure but I think that I even got maps that I used to have sometime ago but not recently?

I did enable the compatibility mode when I used osu repair, do you mean that it could fix the missing maps problem or the editor problem? Cause I don't think it would bring the maps back, they got deleted:(

Disabling compatibility mode will most likely fix the issue you originally created this thread for.

Repairing the game will not delete your maps and skins. You most likely have 2 osu! installs on your computer and for some reason repairing ran the wrong one.

oh, that's possible. I used to have big problem with apps on my computer after changing drives. I couldn't find files that I knew were there and I had to download osu again because of it. Do you have any idea how could I find the other osu? Cause I cannot search for it at all.

Try checking in C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\osu!, that's the default install location, it might be in there.

If that's not the right install it'll probably be a bit difficult to find. There might be some software out there that improves the Windows search that you can use. If your osu! folder was large enough, you might also be able to use something like WinDirStat to spot it.
