Lets take this pattern as example:
DK KDDKKD DKD KDK KDDK DKD
I just made this pattern up so its not real but the main question is, is it fine if I use just one hand playing the DK DKD KDK patterns or should I learn how to alternate them between both of my hands because as of now they look impossible for me to play with just one hand because at much higher difficulties like 5*+ is gonna be hell, even at 4* it looks pretty rough... due to the speed you have to play those patterns at higher levels.
Right now I'm just using one hand to play alternating patterns while I'm at 3*-4* but before I dive really deep into taiko I want to make it easier on myself if it means changing my play style early on so it will be easier in the long run. But will it be easier or will it be harder with alternation or with hand?
Those patterns are really simple and easy at my level right now, but don't forget to take into consideration the speed you have to hit them at high levels which is absolute insane.

Sorry for my bad English or grammar.

My binds are KDDK.

If you can comfortably single tap it without it being to the point where you cant keep up 70% of the time then single tap. If its too fast, then you alternate. Its basically preference whether you want to single tap or alternate. You wont have to worry about consistently alternating until like mid 5.5*(on some songs) and 6* up. It all depends on how fast the pattern you're trying to play is.

As you play your playstyle will change automatically to better suit the higher difficulty so you don't have to worry about that. For now all you want to do is be consistent with your accuracy, and listen in and play on beat with confidence. You will be much better off if you can stay on tempo under high pressure than someone who's patterns are not clean, but they keep the combo.
