well as the title says i would like to see a backup feature in osu! :) What do i mean with this? Well recently i had to reinstall windows on my pc. uff it was a long process backing my data. i tried to backup some osu folders and .db files, my maps, my screenshoots etc etc... I did ok (it was 16gb :P ) but when i instaled osu again i came to see that osu wasn't detecting all the maps i used to have (i had about 8 thousand and it only recognized 7280 maps) in addition to that i wanted to save my replays too, but i couldn't... i thought that i would save them if i save osu.db file and other db files i saw inside osu's folder... well i can't do anything now. Work is done and i can't go back but in a future some people might have the same problem so i think this could be an interesting feature.

it would be nice to add a buttom in configurations that allow the user to backup the data (replays, local scores, screenshoots, maps and configurations) create several .osz files or backup files that allow you to copy and paste. for example
maps.bkup
replays.bkup
user_data.bkup

it could be a zip file too. well i hope that someone read this and help me, it is not something big (i think) but it will help some people (overall the problem with maps after reinstalling windows)
thanks a lot for reading this and excuse my spelling >.< i'm not an english native speaker :P
:) :) :) :)

Just backup the osu! folder. The difference will be a few mb, compared to backing up beatmaps and such.
Then, after reinstalling, rename osu!.<YourOldWindowsUserName>.cfg to osu!.<YourNewWindowsUserName>.cfg.

i know that! and actually i did something like that. but the problem here is when i instaled osu again, it didn't recognized the maps i used to have, so i think it should exist a buttom that at least convert your maps into osz files and backup your data. that's all i want hehehe

If you did what Maav said exactly, it should all work. If you srsly want another way, just copy the entirety of your song folder and related folders somewhere else on your pc for storage (you can probably store your .cfg and other small things in the cloud through various other programs)
